General Tullius outside Helgen

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 4:34 am

Not sure if this is supposed to happen or not, but after I escaped Helgen I immediately ran towards the closest bandit camp to the left. When I engaged the 3 bandits, General Tullius appeared out of nowhere and just slaughtered all of them.

Is he supposed to be there? Does he walk from Helgen all the way back to Solitude and I just happened to catch him on the road right there?

LOL That's crazy. I often engage those bandits and no, never saw anyone else there except Talsgar the Wanderer.

She was at Helgen? I guess I didn't notice and I even made it a point to try and look around at the people there on my 2nd character. :o

When you head into Helgen on the cart, you pass under the walkway. As the cart angles left, if you look to the right, there's Tullius and Elenwen on horses. So she's looking over his shoulder to keep him on the straight and narrow.... And yes, you can find her WALKING out of Helgen. Dragon ate her horse, obviously. One toon I met her on, I popped TGM real fast and attacked her - but she's essential, and I finally just reloaded. :(

It may be too late on my 2nd character. I noticed that I don't have either of the options in my quest log. At one point I initiated dialogue with Rikke that started the Imperial side; I quit and reloaded, but now I'm wondering if the game bugged and I accidentally joined the Legion.

Hmm. Maybe. But if you really want to go 'cloak, you can get as far in the Imp line as Korvanjund, get the crown, then take it to Ulfric. Voila - Stormcloak!

Yeah, if I do it at all I may have to do that. I don't like the fact that the cities get damaged and some of the Jarls get replaced...especially the ass in Whiterun, "You're not as dumb as you look." "Oh, yeah, well you apparently are talking to me like that." <_<

While there are certainly some, this particular instance isn't one of them. Elewen is meeting with Tullias for the express purpose of getting Ulfric released into Thalmor custody and freed so that the war could continue. Tullias refuses to turn him over and the execution nearly proceeds until Alduin's attack saves both the PC and Ulfric.

If you read the Thalmor Dossier on Ulfric, it notes that they had come to Helgen to free him, they are normally hands off on their use of him but make an exception here as it may have caused an Imperial victory. They failed in their intercession, but luckily for them, us, and Ulfric, Alduin arrived and "coincidentally intervened".

I keep forgetting to read those (3 from the Embassy) - I'm pretty sure they're on a bookshelf in Vlindrel Hall.

I usually end up either neutral in the Civil War or on the Imperial side, mostly because the majority of Stormcloak Jarls are all so incredibly unlikeable. True you get Maven and that guy in Falkreath, but I like the rest of the Imperial Jarls, or at the very least I'm indifferent to them.

I've never sided with the Empire so I don't know how the Jarls are, but I'm not crazy about the fact that Idgrod gets replaced. :o

True high king? That would be you. You know, the one who killed the World Eater (maybe....), went to Sovngarde, drank mead with Ysgramor, cleaned out every wretched zombie in the land, is a one man/woman police force on bandits, rides on the back of a red dragon, and can beat down a mammoth with their bare fists...

Whoever does that should be a king. Not some NPC with a few lines. That's probably the dumbest thing about this game. That there's even an option for anyone else BUT YOU to be a king.

Well thats what the moot is for. It's a time for those who want to make a claim for the high king's throne to step up and be heard.

On my last character, I finally tried the peace council. I was set to let it all be settled in the moot, but Ulfric is a turd (especially to Elisif). I gave him a lot of concessions and pissed Tullius off, but Ulfric says nothing about it. I think I'll resume the civil war and get this whole "moot" thing started early.
