A Giants IQ.

Their "friendly warning" isn't that friendly, and if you don't interpret it quickly enough, you get launched into space. I don't think much of their gentleness.

Judging from their pathing, they have the intelligence of my uncle's mentally challenged dog who when in the pool swimming tries futilly to get his toy on the ledge and climb out rather than just run around the pool to get it.

I caught a pair of giants talking to each other, could not understand a word what they were saying, but IMO they have the intellegence of a Cheeto.

That mammoth cheese is disgusting.
I hate the way it looks, just sitting out in the open, day and night, in some nasty mammoth skin thing strung over some bones or sticks.
And I'm grossed out by the way it makes that squishy sound when you Take it.

Giants are intelligent enough not to speak or involve themselves with mortal affairs. They prefer a simpler life.

LMAO! OMG, I thought I was the only one. Plus too add, makes you wonder what is all involved in the making of that cheese. Giants could be scratching their butts and then kneeding it with their large hands, or using their feet. :yuck: And yes I hate the "squishy" sound it makes when collecting it.

No one has mentioned their unique art, the painted boulders and such.
Those markings may be a form of communication or symbolism, and certainly indicate advanced sentience.

Just because we cannot understand them doesn't mean they have no language.
Elephants and whales communicate at frequencies that we sometimes cannot hear. Could be the same for the Giants.

They are pretty primitive but are intelligent. I think they are the ones who gave the Dwarves in Skyrim their names, Dwemer (means dwarf in Giant). Which makes sense why they aren't actually dwarves but called dwarves because to a Giant, everything is small.

I also heard somewhere the Giants have a language recorded for the game but Bethesda cut it out or didnt add it in the games release or maybe its an upcoming DLC quest.

I also wonder where that brown stuff that they put on rocks and draw patterns in comes from...

There are no female giants and no giant children... maybe the giants are a product of some Nord mutation after all.

Or, the cheese isn't the only reason why the giants are so protective of their mammoths.

I sorta wish there were a couple talking giants worked into a quest or two. That would be more fun than a bag o' biscuits.

Not quite right, 'Dwemer' I think means 'Deep Ones,' and is the elven name for the dwarves. Dwarves is the human name for them, and is believed to have been originally coined by the giants.

As for giant's intelligence, they're shown to have at least some understanding of trade and even money. *Minor Spoiler*
Spoiler
In the side quest 'a night to remember' you steal a goat from a farmer in Rorikstead and sell it to a giant, so that you have enough money to pay back Ysolda.

Where are the young giants? That's what I'd like to know. Maybe they're all just Nords with some common growth hormone disorder. They can't fit in their houses or find clothes that fit. You'd do well to start making cheese and crafting giant underpants in the same situation.
There doesn't seem to be any females either, which I guess is why they're a bit cranky - they're frustrated.
The ones we see are the females. The males are six inches tall, parasitically attached and concealed under the loincloth.

The children are in the cheesebags and will emerge when fully grown. That's why the advlts are so protective of the cheese- steal some and the giant-baby starves.

There are some giants who are mean, but I have encountered ones (early inthe game) that I could walk right up to and they just stare at me......im thinking they don't talk and are telepathic lol

Oh its in the game-rare to encounter it though. I snuck up on a large Giant Encampment and two giants were speaking to each other, no idea what they said, nor did it pop up across my screen, but I was surprised to see this.

Perhaps you could compare them with Neanderthals. They are brutish and stupid, don't have any language, but still has primitive crafts like cheesemaking.
WRONG! They do have a language.... As shown in a demo, the player could talk to them in an earlier version of the game, or at least it was intended that you could. And they indeed named the dwemer (deep elves) "dwarves" for obvious reasons. And there was also a language skill called giantish in Daggerfall.

Farmers trade cows with Giants too.
I followed the farmer twice and both times the giants attacked him...?

And Infinitely kinder.
Taller too. Anyone who pisses the Altmer off is a friend of mine.

They must be smart enough to communicate with other races. How else could these Khajiit hire them to gaurd them?

Well, they're smart enough to make cheese, tan leather, hunt and start a fire. I reckon their intellegence is on par with that of a stone-age caveman.
Well then it would be the same as humans because stoneage humans were just as intelligent as we are today.

Yeah thats what I'm saying. I've always wondered how smart they were. I wish there was a friendly approachable Giant in Skyrim we can do a quest for, that'd be interesting.
Up to the E3 Demo they were friendly unless provoked. That all changed however...
