Well for what its worth, It appears Bethesda has given the OK to convert files from Oblivion to Skyrim. There are several files on the Steam Workshop of Oblivion weapons and the uploader included an email with customer support saying it was ok.
GStaff has since commented in a thread that got locked here within the last couple of days that the representative at customer service was incorrect.

Oh, hey, I'll drop a request of my own here too.

Staves! In the styles of the existing materials. There's already a dwemeri staff, but it would cool to see glass, elven, ebony, etc. staves.

Weapons of the Third Era has some quality staves in it. Worth checking out if you are after some! Ranging from basic wooden quarterstaff style, through to ebony and daedric (I think). I've not stumbled across the higher-end ones yet, but used the glass combat staff on an old character and loved it.

Hi Porscha, may I ask what modelling programme you use (are going to use)? As for sepcific requests, what about giving some love to the Ebony Mail. It is sad that this artifact looks almost identical to the ebony armour. Also what about some lighter version of Elven armour? The current one looks too havy for a light armour. And in game we already have Light Elven armour that sadly uses more or less the same mesh. Lastly, what woud you think about changing the sleeves of the most common kind of robes, so that they do not clip that much with vanilla gauntlets? Like removing the stings at the end of the sleeves making them wider and more open?

Good luck!

Lots of great ideas here. If you're not overloaded yet, and are still considering requests... I've been wanting a particular style of open-faced stormcloak helmet. One that leaves the grill in front of the guards faces, but removes the plate of steel that hides their faces. I know their are a couple of open-faced guard helmet mods, but none that leave the grill alone.

It would be awesome if you found the time for my little idea. Thanks.
Like a ninja mask? There's a mod that creates holes for the eyes, but none I've seen that have one empty strip for the whole eyes area like a ninja mask. Unless you're talking about something else.

Unfortunately, I haven't come across my Ebony Mail as of yet. When I encounter this armor I will give it some thought.

What kind of Lighter Elven Armor? Thinner metal, some more cloth with Elven design?

There are normal posts, large posts, illiterate posts, dirty posts, funny posts, and posts of epic proportions.

Then there's this crappy double post.

Just as a word of warning - Wo3E is extremely well-designed visually, but the animations killed it for me, since it reuses the warhammer/axe animation. I don't fault them for it, but I like Wo3E more for its stuff like scimitars.

Indeed there are. I love Weapons of the Third Era.

Spears and Staves should be mod as they're pretty similar and style. I don't know if anyone is wanting to make a mod like this, so I have nothing to help with until then.

What I'll be doing:

Weapons (I have my own swords and bows releasing soon, you might have seen them)
Architecture (columns, collapsed structures, statues, rocks)
Shields (waiting for someone who needs some shields)
Spears and Staves (waiting as above)
Some surprises already done, but waiting for game integration (immersion purposes, as soon as I figure how to make them work fluidly)

That's all I have set in stone right now. I can get these done in a timely manner if you need some assistance, but get in touch with me so I know all the details.

Same reason why my staff blueprint models just sit there. I'm waiting for Bethesda's official staff update with its own animation, etc.

Btw, you thinkin' about some Touhou Project/Alice Margatroid? lol

My staff request was not actually with the intention of making them physical weapons but to expand the range of magical staves. Some manner of loot overhaul will be necessary for a mod I am working on, so having staves in all the vanilla styles would be a godsend.

Oh, actually this avatar is fanart of Princess Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear, an Archer and Support-Healer character from Tales of the Abyss, which has served as a basis for some of my designs for power usage to make Archery more usable. I was never really a Touhou person.

Oh. I'm not even a Touhou person. In-fact, I had to google it, lol. I started Tales of Abyss, but never play through it. That's off-topic, though.

@ishmael, I agree. Spears will need to wait, but magical staves are quite ready to be in someone's mod soon.

I'm not sure if the handle design is a mammoth or some other thing, but I'm just rolling with it.

I really like the shape, but it'd hard to get an idea of the depth. Have you up it in game yet? The shadows would help define the structure a bit more.

Hi, just thought i'd ask. I have been looking out for a possible wooden weaponry mod, like the Tsurani swords described in Raymond E Feist books. Not seen any mods of this sort. Thought it would be an interesting addition, maybe.. :)

There are no normal maps on those textures yet so that's probably why. I haven't gotten them in-game as of yet. If anyone wants to give it go, that's fine.

I've assigned some "dwemer" material to it to maybe give you an idea.

Thanks for the reply. If you have not found the Ebony mail, I will not spoil it for you, but do not expect much. As for the Elven armour, I would like some more cloth, yes. I mean, it is just a ful suit of metal. Especially the boots and gauntlets look so heavy and coumbersome. Perhaps something a bit more akin to the elven armour from Oblivion? That one was far from being perfect, but it did have a much lighter feel to it

I absolutely loved Mithril armor in Oblivion and I wanted to recreate that in Skyrim. Perhaps the light feel of Mithril and Elven combined would be suitable? 2 birds with one stone. Not that I throw stones at birds. Not that I throw stones at living creatures.

Not that I wouldn't.

When I was a little girl, I threw a stone at another girl. I was trying to throw it over her head, but it hit her just above the eye. She needed stitches, and I was grounded for a month.

The end.

I never liked the Mithril myself, but if you could "fuse" it well with the elven one, it might be nice. And what about making it a bit like the elven armour in LOTR (I do not have a picture handy, but I guess you know what I mean). It looked light enough while it maintained the semblance of providing protection. And when we talk about armour, what about some new scaled armour. Tha fact that the vanilla is more or less just a retexture of the studded one does not seem right.

As far as birds go, ever since the god created guns, I do no t care for stones any longer :-)

You people are staying away from my birds.

Elven armor alone sounds better to me. I'd like a full Mithril and Elven separate. I've got some ideas.
