That is just insane. I have never had more than 40K. Someone would have to spend a LOT of time selling EVERY piece of loot to get that much. Not to mention collect EVERY little bit of loot they could pick up.
Early game money is a TOP priority. Especially as a mage. Spells cost a lot. Once I have those and a house (if I buy one). I start getting very selective about loot. Often just taking the gold, if any.

I can't imagine having that mush at once.
Just a side effect of leveling alchemy and enchantment.

Ha ha! True, but still....You would need to convert that stuff to coin. You are still selling that stuff. I can't see just finding that much gold in loot and treasure.
I have over a million. I decided to make http://www.nerdnexus.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/scrooge_mcduck.jpg, but the game crashed after about 2000 coins dropped.
They won't be able to. The game engine is not exactly designed with thousands of objects colliding in the first place (Dragging around the console anchor, remember?).
I'm still rooting for a 'raise funds to pay workers to rebuilt and improve as well as soldiers.' You know. For that 'Thalmor problem' DLC everyone thinks is going to happen.
I'm out of things to DO now, Beth. Give me a reason to get back out there and loot my brains out.
And while you're at it, make Dragon Souls also count as perk points. They're just sitting there. In mah body. Whispering things to me. Like 'hay a**hole f**k u fer kellin meh and stuhff >:C'
I find as a mage that buying spells is a good way to spend money, plus i buy all my soul gems for enchanting cuz i have enough gold so cant be bothered with the soul trap thing. . . i have to say that i still have way too much money but it makes me feel rich so i dont mind lol
If only you could reset 10 perks for 50,000 gold... They've got to know almost all of us took [censored] perks our first go through and not everyone wants to play the exact same quests for hours again.

I know I did. Made a mistake at level 70-something and had no backup saves to go back on my decision.

Started alllll ovvvverrrr...
way I like doing everthing in the game so I wish we can trade dragon souls for perk points but that me. on the gold save it for DLC we all going to need are gold then.
If you like to enchant and smith you end up buying every type of magic item to learn the enchantment and those tend to be 1000-3000 each. I nab any fortify smithing/alchemy item I can find and upgrade them when possible. I enchant the weapons I find and still manage to never have more than 10k laying around due to buying things. Sure once you get to level 40-50 you'll end up with 100k laying around unless you start training a lot, but Oblivion was 100x worse than Skyrim. One dungeon would yield 35-40k for half an hours work and you could sell it all to one guy, and there was even less useful things to buy in Oblivion.
I just barely hit the 5k mark, at lvl25. I really wanna buy some ingredients, but all these salts are way to expensive. . I sell pretty much all the profitable loot, and still can barely survive and have to keep a eye on the budget. Oh wait - i dont sell selfmade alchemy and enchants. Strange, but economy isnt broken for me, yet.
Ive got over 200K on my current level 77. I have an OCD about taking back every single damned piece of profitable items. Hell thats why I love Dead Thrall so much, it allows me a pack mule with an infinite carry weight!
In Oblivion I had well over 1M before I decided to throw it all away. Was back to 500K before I even realized.
