im almost done with my first playthrough of NV, and ive noticed theres no longer any clear cut "good" or "bad" choices. its all just shades of gray. needless to say, this has me thinking a lot more about the choices i make, as opposed to FO:3 where you instantly knew what you had to do to be the good guy. im liking this, what is everyone elses opinion?

well i've played like 6 hours but it seems like the Legion is evil and the NCR is good.

The NCR hasn't done anything bad so far, and the Legion owns that town, has slaves, and attacks people randomly, raids, kidnaps wives, lol.

its true that the NCR appears to be the good side, but if you talk to the settlers, most people dont like the fact that theyre taking over. of course caesers legion is bad, so thats about the only clear cut faction.

Caeser's Legion isn't bad, they just want to take over the world. I'm definitely on their side. :flamethrower:

Caesars legion is most definitely more badass... right up until you see the NCR ranger combat armor. and thank you for the iguana stick, have a gecko steak!

I've seen the Ranger combat armor, it is most badass. I wish there wasn't this faction disguise thingy or I would wear that thing 24/7.

NCR are messed up they are very aryan, in a weak format.
Anyone that is not under NCRs protection, or a citizen of the NCR, is crap.
Go to Freeside, go look at the town that was over-run by powder-gangers.
Tell me they are saints?
At least Caesar let's anyone into his ranks, and he wants to take everyone under his wing.
So KiZarr is more saintly, in that view.
He is less discriminatory.

i know right? i really dont like the whole disguise thing. i was gonna side with caesars legion, but i walked up to the camp in ncr clothes and got introduce to just how much damage a throwing spear can do.

yeah, but he kills everyone. remember that one place that had all those people on crucifixes? eeeeevvvvviiiiilll.

He let 2 people live, even though 1 of them had his legs broken. lol. And he let you live

yeah haha as longs as your working for him. i, personally, killed caesars whole camp. he was not pleased.

I think it wouldn't work if there were achievements for completing the game with a certain karma standing. Assuming you want the least number of playthroughs youd have to coordinate that with the faction your continuing with also.

hmm.. ive noticed karma doesnt affect much in this game. its all about rep. you could be a saint to one group, and satan to the other, and no one cares.

NCR is not entirely good and Legion is not entirely bad. NCR wants to gain control to bring "order", but they mainly just want everyone under their control. Legion is more controlling of the people they take over and definitely impose their will, but many would consider them more moral since they actively combat the vices of the people. NCR most likely wants a democracy, so I can see most agreeing with them since most of us on here live in one so it clearly is the best.

If I could completely trust Mr. House I would be for him, although when he talks about "colonizing other planets" that made me think of the Enclave in FO3 just killing of anyone who wasn't "pure" and not even dealing with the results of what humanity did. Just moving on.

The NCR apparently has ghouls and mutants and all that junk in their ranks, so they're trying to build up a new civilization without trying to just forget about what happened. Also, I wanted to help the strip and House at first because it was the only "real city" I've seen in a Fallout game (recent ones) but then it the NCR has a real system set up back in California, with a decent sized population, so I support them now.

I'm not sure If I can but it would be cool to take over Vegas AND support NCR...I dont think it will let you though...kbai

you cant do both, sadly. i have to say, NCR is the closest to good side. just like in FO:3 , the brotherhood isnt exactly a group of saints. they still withold tech that could help the wasteland, just for their own personal use.

Crucifixions beheading and enslavement sort of kill any hope for them being good.

Close. It is 18 compared to the Ranger Combat Armor's 20. I think it has the same amount of "Reinforcement", though.

hmm. well i guess thats close enough. personally, i think that the ranger armor looks way more rad.

NCR ranger combat armor has 20DT while the normal Caeser's legion armor has 18DT both at fully repaired, I think I'd rather stick to my reinforced leather armor so I don't get attacked randomly...
