Good way to make money early on

Just go do the Thieves' Guild random missions. 500 gold for some easy thieving work.

I just don't want to level that fast. I even quit using a Guardian Stone, much less the Lover Stone. I don't really want to gain 10 levels in a couple of hours of gameplay.

Well I have 175,000 now and have yet to do a quest. Gonna run out of skills by tonight though to power level and gonna have to start them though. Once you get banish which is around lvl 30 money will start rolling in.

Also you can do alchemy to get money. Buy all ingredients at store, then make most valuable potions. I've gained about 50k doing that tonight.

You don't have to do any quests to get the Amulet of Mara. You can just buy off of the male priest for $200.

One of my favorite early money grabs is to go to the mine just outside of Marcath and get the "clear out the forsworn from Kolskeggr mine" It's a gold mine and you can come out with enough ore to make around 25 ingots. Smith these into necklaces and sell them.
Ye that mine is full of gold plus you get money for clearing it except for a lower level it would be very hard to clear it as the forsworn are tough plus there is a briarheart too

Here's a list of http://209.46.18.232/wiers.us/skyalc/workbench.php?recipes_tab&show=results&11 I'm partial got GT, Wheat, and Swamp Fungal Pod. Easy stuff to get, and actually a useful potion in a pinch, assuming you aren't casting spells or already have 0 magicka from casting.

Truely excellent link.....Thanks a lot for that. I know what i'll be doing tonight.......again!

I never had the need for money early in the game. After level 30, I became richer and richer.

Banish daggers > any potion ( unless you have max alchemy tree)

Banish enchant is hard to get at low levels and will easy cost you 5000, turn undead or absorb health sells for less but is easier to get.

Price goes down as you make many but resets if you exit game and load again, so exit after making an stack.

Just kill and loot stuff. It's more fun and meaningful than just grinding or exploiting.

I usually make 20,000 by level 20.

Plus you eventually get fences available that have great amounts of gold.

Didn't know that was wondering why they were only selling for 900. Yep can't get banish until around 30, of course only takes about day to get to 30.

1. Go to halted Stream Camp
2. Get Transmute spell tome
3. Mine lots of iron ore
4. Transmute to Gold
5. Go to forge, make gold rings
6 (optional)Throw cheap enchants on rings with petty stones
7. Sell rings

Personally, though, I prefer to spend my time playing the game, not working in it.

whats the dawnstar chest?
There's a buried chest just outside the Dawnstar iron mine. If you're looking at the mine entrance from outside, it's on the left in the rocks; look down in that area and it will show up. It contains leveled items, including enchanted ones, as well as crafting supplies, and restocks fairly often. Taking everything worthwhile will load you to over 500 WGT, though, so if the Khajiit caravan is not in Dawnstar when you loot it you'll need a companion along to haul it all off in one trip. Note that there is no workbench in Dawnstar, so if you want to upgrade any armor you take out of the chest you'll have to do that elsewhere.
