- Level 16
- I don't meta-game: I pick perks and traits according to a) does it fit my Sniper/Sneak character and b)does it sound like fun/different from other games on the market.
- Trying both and failing: quests send me to areas where I get turned to paste in 10 seconds. Wandering around gets me killed even faster.
- "What is that? Let's go see!" "Who is that? Let's talk to them!" everything else is answered by my character build
- Level 16, 25 or so hours.
So you like me, Sniper/Sneak character. I did that, and then started over again. I still act like a sniper/sneak character, but I also am training to be either a Melee or unamred character. Both at 20 right now, so depending what I find, I will use one or the other or maybe both, depends my fancy how the game goes, to be my close combat attacks. Right now I sneak and snipe. When I fail that and the enemies are close to me, I take out my trusty cleaver out to finish them off hopefully. I am enjoying close combat a bit more now than I did with sniping right now. Maybe because I sniped too much in Fallout 3, it's a bit stale for me. Have you considered close combat as a back up when they are close by?
I know what you mean about getting pasted. I am running away like a chicken all the time. Yes it gets hard. My problem is I am not specializing in a certian combat, say guns because I am concentrating on close combat. When I do close combat in my skills, I keep shooting poorly all the time. I guess I am not playing the game properly but I am having fun though.
I know about wandering around. I keep dieing as well.
Well if you are bored with the game, take a break from it. I had this with Oblivion when it came out. I wouldn't touch it for a month. Then I tried it, and then something "clicked" and I loved it. So take a break from the game. A week, 2 weeks or a month. Come back after wards and try it then. Hopefully you will find it fun after wards. If not, maybe the game just dosen't click for you.
