grounded?!?!?!

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 12:49 pm

Just clean your room. Even if you think it's dumb. Best thing to do when grounded is basically do what you are told to do. How strict is she? Is she willing to come to a compromise? Look at me using big words :P

Haven't been grounded in years. Old enough to just be kicked out of the house! 20 years old :). I pay them $50 a month to help with costs.

Haha, people saying you're too young to get it. If you were 17, 16 or whatever you would probably be getting it too.

if you're young enough for mommy to take your xbox away you don't deserve Skyrim

Umm.... yeah.

Judging by your signature I'm going to guess you and the OP are probably about the same age so...

I turned 17 last week. Payed with it with my money and drove with my car.

"As long as you live under my roof young man....!"

Mom gave you a much more severe punishment than she realizes.

Score:

Mom - 1
You - 0

lol - go Mom! :mohawk:

Looks like you better change your location from "Skyrim" to "Grounded".

I meant more because you're bragging about a KD ratio in your sig, not because you play Gears of War.

i thought the sig would catch on and everyone who played Gears would put their K/D in their sigs. it didn't...

Ah, this might be the wrong forum for that haha. :P

Anyway, I guess I came off kind of grumpy in my first post. I just don't see why all you guys think he doesn't deserve to play a game just because he's probably somewhere between 14-16.

Wow... I can see the forums are full of sympathetic people!

But actually a lot of them are right. if you are young enough to get grounded, then that means you aren't 17. Skyrim is rated M. M rating means 17+

Grounded + not 17 / by the square root of doing something naughty - no xbox = Skyrim isn't in your future.

My mom grounded me and took my xbox 360 only a few days before the biggest game of the year comes out. I have the game pre-ordered and fully paid for so all I need to do is pick it up tomorrow. I dont know how long she will keep it from me...it could be days, weeks, months...what do I do to cope?

- Go play it at a friend's house. They can't really take it away over there can they?

- Do the dishes, do the laundry, clean the windows, sweep and vaccuum the floors, fetch dad a few beers, pour mom a few glasses of wine. Bribe your way back in.

- Emphasis on the latter part of the last one. Mom is generally the weak one. On top of the wine, give her a massage, tell her she looks beautiful today, that dad abuses you, that you have a secret about his computer website habits if you get your 360 in return. Blackmail works too.

- Hide dad's remote, put a video tape on the couch for dad to see that starts out with "Hello dad, I want to play a game" and finishes with "you have 60 seconds to get my Xbox 360 back, let the games begin". I heard Saw 360 was a good movie.

The point of getting grounded is punishment. Take it like a man (even if you're a woman), and meditate on whatever failure as a person led you to this punishment.

17 is still highschool age. Highschoolers can get grounded, though its not very common.

How old are you?

Also, shouldn't have done what you know would bite you in the posterior later.

I love how you guys are all "That'll teach you! You're too young anyway!" without even knowing the full circumstances behind the situation. Actually, I don't love it, it kind of sickens me. :toughninja:

I had a friend who was getting grounded all the way up until his 18th birthday just because his mom was crazy. He was a good kid too, got A's and B's in school, didn't skip school, kept up with house work and everything but his mom was just crazy. He was at my house once and his mom made him come home because he forgot to put a case of water in the fridge before he left, he wasn't allowed out for a month after that...

Well, it's his fault for having a dirty room. My room is as clean as a gold toothpick. When a few pieces of clothes get thrown around on the floor, I take less than 2 minutes to pick it up and hang it. So, unless he has a mansion for a room, there's not really an excuse for not cleaning it up... unless his arms/hands are broken or something like that.

Whoa, Highschoolers get grounded alot, just not for hitting their sister or calling someone stupid. Generally its from being under the influence of certain influential substances or telling your Mom that those are medicinal herbs.

Accept your punishment for whatever thing you did and man up. If you accept it, it will show your maturity to your parents and they may lift the punishment early. If you want to be optimistic, by the time you get to play the game, most of the major bugs will be patched :)
