I had the best idea for a new DLC

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:44 am

I was playing New vegas right XD, went to McCarran and noticed they have several aeroplanes :)
I think there should be a DLC where you or someone fixes a plane, and you fly it to somewhere, so we see what has happened to other part of the world,
like check out Russia?, or maybe Beijing China? or London U.K, or even Bangladesh XD
orrrrrrr go to Capital wasteland and if you have a FO3 save file, you can team up with the "Lone wonderer" or fight him/her :)
and you can take all your companions from FO3 to the lucky 38 :)
would be [censored] nang!

I could of sworn I heard in Fallout 3 they dont use fuel no more, they use nuclear energy reactors in everything!
but anyways lets just say! they planes run on hydro energy or solar energy! ( from the Dam or Helios one)

So you're saying that those planes may run on electricity...
I find it hard to belive.

Well seeing as how there was no conventional fuel before the war, and even cars run on nuclear reactors, I find it very easy to believe that maybe some on onboard reactor or fission battery recharging.

No. Fallout is about America.

I could see maybe Mexico and Canada, but nothing more otherwise its not really 'Fallout'.

Cars and planes with nuclear engines are indeed plausable, seeing that in the 50's there were attempts of making a car with nuclear engine (Ford Nucleon), and in Fallout universe nuclear-power engines might have been perfected to the point of nuclear-powered planes. However, how could NCR make such engines work, and how is powering the plane by the electricity made by the Dam, or HELIOS plant work.

The NCR have operable Vertbirds which I would assume use similar fuel as the plane... but regardless I don't really like it as an idea anyway.

We should have a map node system for future games and spin-offs in other countries than USA, but I would rather not have any flimsy plot hole thing where I can fly a plane to Ukraine.

No. Fallout is America. I can see us going to Canada since it was annexed or just a very limited amount of Mexico near the boarder but not Russia or whatever else you mentioned. I don't like the idea anyways.

I doubt there are any aircraft capable of making such a trip. Aren't Vertibirds limited to a range of 170 miles?

There's also the issue of 'Why?'. Why would we make such a trip?

No, No....Just no..... Fallout is american and if you put in vehicles, whats the point, everyone will be killing each other for one to get away. Thats why I was so pissed when I saw that damn plane in New Vegas fly over Hoover Dam, I was like "Ah, wtf is this sh*t!", that just screwd it up for me, so NO NO NO!

Wait... you were surprised that the plane you helped repair to flying condition... flys?

I mean for gods sake... the Boomers even told you they'd use it against the opposing side in the battle! What were you expecting them to do with it?

Boomers get their Fuel from corn, there is a hanger where they make it at their base. Still no one in their right mind gets into a plane without having a place to LAND! What reason would anyone have to fly to Russia from Las Vegas? Also none of those planes look like they can cross oceans.

they have bloody bouys one the sides :S anyways but you can say that about anything! why did we go the pitt in fallout 3 or point lookout? because someone gave us a reason!
also I didnt specfically state that we must go to China, or Russia, so whys everyone digging on Russia,
I merely stated I had an idea, that I thought was cool, if we could see other places, to see what happened to them
so yes all of you that pointed out Canada, or Mexico, would be fesible!, well maybe it would be good if there was an DLC where we went to Canada or Mexico :)

Ofcourse I knew what they were going to do with it, it just felt weird for me, a working plane!(aside from Vertibirds.) If the next Fallout is set even further in the future, will there be vehicles we can use? Will they have found a way to get working vehicles for everyone? I sure as hell hope not. It sounds very stupid but still...

Mexico is the most likely country to travel to, NCR controls Baja and Mexico City is talked about. Still by plane will make no sense. Taking off is one thing but not having a place to land is a huge problem and then getting the fuel to come back is another.

Todd Howard (I think) has said that Fallout won't be set outside of the USA, because the Americana is an important part of it.

(And I would assume they'd need to employ people who know the country to put in all the details.)

No.

This x 5

There is no need to. Fallout as a whole is supposed to be set in America. I wouldn't mind hearing news about the rest of the world, but keep the planes on the ground and the people in the US.

its just because in the u.s.a there is more guns than people fallouts not just about the u.s.a nuclear war would affect the world if fallout was set in the uk it would be about crossbows and home made melee weapons and more about survival, crafting and we have vaults in the uk to. it would be harder to survive in a uk set fallout no guns maybe homemade guns
