Haggling perk?

UESP page says it has been fixed. Oh well...

Doh... they should have left it as an Easter egg IMO. It's not game breaking and makes the speech tree actually useful, as he was the only merchant who had enough cash to buy the enchanted gear worth more than 1500.

The speech tree is still very useful though, but I guess I just need to invest in a lot more merchants now.

What version is your game? Mine is 1.3.10, might still be able to do this :P

I'm sick of manually typing "additem f 5000". At this point I kinda miss Final Fantasy style unlimited-bank-even-if-I-live-in-a-sewer merchant. it's not that my junk is worth more than 1500, but each costs the merchant 400 gold, and I have, like, 10 of em

Looking at the date on which the Wiki was updated with the new information, it's the latest 1.4 patch that "fixes" it. You should still be ok as long as you don't update.

The amount of gold you get in the Dark Brotherhood is ridiculous, I mean they literately throwing thousands of it at you for a simple bandits death. The Thieves guild option makes the stolen goods perk redundant, the alchemy makes it so much easier to just
boost your speachcraft with the potions including the barter.

You can only train 5 times per level so no matter how much gold you get, you can only buy so much useful things, not to mention the smithing and enchanting makes for blacksmith wares also not of any use.

I only suggest getting a barter in the skill of 1, simply because it helps keep your gold in balance.

the skill tree really does need an overhaul

Since they scrapped the abilities of npc's, to craft (blacksmith) gear on your request, or enchant it (enchanter) or alchemists brewing potions for you ect, there is no goldsinks in the game. But it also forces you now to take either or all of those perks limiting your other choices but that's another story...

The houses with the furnitures aside, there is no use for gold.
Speech is more for RP then anything else, f.ex if u want to play a really good guy that always try to avoic conflict.
