hardcoe healing + caesar's legion

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 4:37 pm

i was wondering if sleeping would heal broken limbs (in hardcoe mode) because from wat iv heard only doctors can heal limbs,

also if i join NCR can i still be part of caesar's legion? kinda like a double agent

Only doctors and a doctors bag. I think if you try to play both sides you'll just piss off both.

I'd assume that in hardcoe mode, sleeping does not heal crippled limbs, otherwise the idea of needing a doctor or doctor's bag to heal them would seem kind of pointless, since you'd just need to find a bed if you did not want to use those.

And I'd imagine that you won't be able to join a particular faction without commiting yourself to that side. You'll probably be able to take only one side in each playthrough, at least with the NCR and Ceasar's Legion, seeing as both sides are at war, it wouldn't make much sense to be able to help both sides and still be trusted by both.

I'm glad we can use the doctors bag though. It would svck to go find a NPC doctor every time.

Didn't they say crippled limbs heal over time, too?

As well as it not making any logical sense, the game mechanics wouldn't even let it happen anyway, as killing a town of Ceasar's Legion will probably make them hate you forever due to the Reputation system.

You might be able to play both sides (do small jobs) for a short while, but soon enough you'll have to grow a pair and pick a side. Long live the Legion!

Mayhap the new caeser, but not the original. Remember, Caeser is a title, not his name. (nessecarily(?))

Yeah, there's a new Ceasar -- voiced by John Doman! :D

I expect him to be an interesting character. And there's also someone else... called Vulpes [something]; he sounds incredibly dark.

You're probably going to have to see a doctor about that or buy a doctor's bag.

I would prefer limb injuries even when "healed" take time to heal. Just seems wrong to fix a broken leg or a busted eye with 5minutes at a doctor.

I wonder how much the doc bags weigh? Crippled limbs was pretty common during an extended venture in 3, so I wouldn't wanna havta chew up 50 pounds of carrying weight to fix a couple of crippled arms.

Not really, the background from Van Buren isn't confirmed to be canon. It could be and it could be not.

Van Buren isn't canon. The only way something from Van Buren will be considered canon is if it's featured in New Vegas, or in a future [official] Fallout game.

It's Caesar, the founder of Caesar's Legion. Not the old Caesar (unless we're talking about Julius Caesar), just the same Caesar.

I think it would be cool that if you go into the doctors to heal a crippled limb you should have to go to sleep on the operating table or something like that and then wake up a few hours later.

Why not add the ability to use crutches in the game? Could help you walk faster when your leg is broken.

This one time, I was in a car accident, broke both my legs and my collar-bone.

Then I went to bed and woke up fully healed! True story!

I think I might be jesus ...

There's limits to how fun and interesting a game can be if they implemented weeks, maybe months of realistic recovery.
I think the visit to the doctor/doctors bag is plenty of realism. Don't think we should go for further treatment than than. Think of how easy it was to break something in Fallout 3. I guarantee people would be sick and tired of it after the 100th time they broke something.

Amazing is that you only slept for an hour. And it wasn't even in your own comfortamble bed, it was on a dirty matress in an alley right beside a dumpster and Waltz the homeless man.

Edit: Maybe Waltz is Jesus.
