sadly i guess i was seeking a heavily survival influenced game because hardcoe even when you pump the rates way up, still fails to deliver in my eyes. the penalties are not severe and are infact quite laughable, up until you reach 1000. dying in your sleep however is a nice touch that has been missing since fallout 1. of course, the glow taught me to always save your game when you're in a safe situation, so i try not to let that happen too much

imo, hardcoe is interesting but to make it what so many of us crave, it needs far more severe penalties at all levels of dehydration and starvation. also, the standard rates are so pathetic its just asinine. at about 12.5x the normal rates, you have to drink a few times a day, sleep 6-8 hours for every 30 hours, and eat no less than once a day. to me, that seems like a far more 'hardcoe' approach, however, the issue is that there is nothing stopping a player from allowing the timers to go near 1000 because the penalties between 250-1000 are absolutely weaksauce.
