Well, I have 3 different characters going right now, so yeah, it does, though it sounds like you wont be playin it again

The 30 day respawn on dungeons severely cripples the replayability for me. I honestly like repetitiveness.

Other than that, don't rush the game and you're fine. Don't try to complete everything on one character, stay in your role.
If you're a murderous assassin it's not really logical that you enter a honourable Warrior guild like the companions, etc.

Sadly quests don't branch the way I expected to, atleast not the major ones, that's a bit of a pain...

What do you mean 30 day respawn? If you clear a dungeon it's not coming back.

For me, yup. I could do every damn quest on one character and still replay the game on 10 others. Every time you play is different, every time. Sometimes the quests are even a little different, if they're not it doesn't really matter because no mater what the dynamics of the game allow for it to be different every time you play. Even if you played a mage the rerolled a mage, chances are they wont be exactly the same. It's all about putting yourself in the story, if you can't do that then you should stick to things like Final Fantasy. Cool story that you don't need to replay, unless you simply like the game that much. But nothing will really change game wise.

It still stay "cleared" but after 30 days, both loot and enemies will respawn.

For instance, I've cleared Helgen three times now I believe and it's been cleared since the beginning scene.

it has enormous content for 1 character but i laid aside plans for a 2nd playthrough for now. need to finish everytrhing with my first (which will probably end at 250 hrs or so), then pick up again for a 2nd someday in the future.

Currently a level 27 Nord warrior. I love the game and the exploration BUT i really wouldn't want to go through the pain of levelling another character. Plus i have 100 smithing so why would i want to do it again??? Once the exploration of a region is over, it just wouldn't be the same going through the same dungeons etc etc. You'd know what to expect and for me the fun would be over. Plus the thought of picking up all that that gold/trash items all over again makes me feel ill lol.
Am just glad i picked my right class. I really wouldn't want to do re-roll and do it all over again. If you do then your a braver person than i. i salute you.

in my experience yes, when I create a character I like to have a planned "class" and roleplay direction, for example, creating a good mage, that will join empire and become archmage, using traditional setup (destruction-alteration-something else), and once that character does all the main quests, has 100 in his core skills, and did all the relevant roleplay sidequests, I prefer doing a different character, with different roleplay that will do different quests and go to different places andm ake different choices.

i have played two characters to lvl 41 and 49 a mage and hunter style and they have had very different experiences. The order you do quest changes the whole experience and skills development, perk choices guild affiliation and at what time or if at all you join the war makes very replayable. Not to mention a few DNA changes that can alter the experience.

Then MODs open a whole new universe.

Your entire premise IMO is wrong, leveling should come naturally, don't force it the game loses fun if you force levels etc. . .

That ^ and I really never felt like I had "to level" in this game. If playing Skyrim feels like playing an MMO, you're probably doing it wrong, very wrong.

well I guess it depends
if you go out completing every single quest with your first character and max out every skill (that matters)
than no, there really isn't much re playability

if however you just stick to the qeustlines relevant to your character (winterhold for mages companions for warriors etc.)
than yes, every playtrough is different enough
what I personally find hard though is to not fall into the same patterns
like visit the same locations just because you know them or use stuff you're familiar with
have to kind of force myself to play differently and than it's great fun playing it for the second time
perhaps even a third fourth etc,.

If you can't role play then the game is really short and gets boring really quickly.

That's why it's called RPG.

This x 1000.

Beggining a new character is one of the best things to do once you're bored in TES.

If you are on PC there is a mod that changes respawn to 10, 3, 2, or 1 days.

Or for others that don't want any respawn whatsoever

You could limit yourself to joining just one of the guilds with each play through.

I did this and i'm probaby not going to play Skyrim until next year when DLC comes out or mods come out that reshape the game entirely.

The reason for this is because of the fact that i've burned through all of Skyrim's dungeons. And at the end of the day, that is probably the most of what Skyrim has to offer.

So instead of limiting factions, i'd consider limiting the amount of dungeons you explore on each playthrough. The reason I say this is because they all feel really unique. If you've explored every dungeon and on you're on your second play-through, the dungeon you're in may feel new but it only takes a particular room to just give you that "Oh I remember what happens in here," type of feeling -- its a similar feeling to Morrowind except Morrowind's caves were less detailed, and had similar structures, making the memory cloudy at some points.

Obviously if you've already blasted through all of Skyrim's caves, forts, tombs and dungeons, the only thing I can suggest is perhaps playing on a harder difficulty, so you still kinda feel like you're being rewarded when you complete it.

150 hours here, and planning both a new char (still don't know if stealth or magic-based) and a version 2.0 of my actual char, which is my favored build (Male Nord Warrior with Light Armor, dual-wield and Restoration...Spartacus all the way :D). I'll begin my new char as soon as the new patch is released next week, and the 2.0 version as soon as I return from Christmas holidays (Jan-4 or so, just in time for the Creation Kit to be released).

The "new from scratch" char is gonna be cool, but I'm really looking forward to the version 2.0 of my main char, as it'll involve some really serious roleplay and modding.

The term role playing is quite suggestive and for me it's impossible to role play in this game since everyone is essential.

I've restarted a character 4 times now ("losing" about 90 hours lmao) and repeating a few things, but haven't come close to finishing the game... I would say that gives it a high enough replay ability. I'm keeping the character I have now.. I think. I hope...
Once I get everything I can out of Skyrim I'm going to replay III and IV, which will probably bring me back to V.

I just got all the achievements in 160 hours of play through three different characters (Warrior, Mage and Thief) and I'm about to start a fourth character (Male Khajiit 2H, Heavy Armor, Smithing, Enchanting - yes yes EZ mode).

If that doesn't answer your question; yes it definitely has replayability. Of course everyone won't be as svcked into the game as I am, but Skyrim really is a huge game. I've done all the major questlines across my characters, but I have tons of side quests and hundreds of misc objectives left. Probably 40+ dungeons as well that I've never been into.

And let's not talk about DLC / expansion(s). Because they will come, and probably a lot of them. And if you're on PC - mods, TC's eventually.

I have 5 different characters, each one was interesting to play (though not as much as the first playthrough), but I guess replayability could vary from person to person.

After I've completed Skyrim with my main character I'll make sure to try other playstyles with other characters... and then there's the mods, which I'm sure I'll use plenty of, once I've finished the game once un-modded.

A lot of people seem to approach these games the same way they approach mmos. Its really the worst thing you could ever, ever do. The goals are different, the playstyle is also meant to be incredibly different, even if both including leveling.

Right, in an mmo, you grind through the levels so you can reach endgame content first, level your professions and have a leg up in the Ah while everyone else is still grinding.

In skyrim, you do it to enjoy the scenery and see new things. Its like a novel. because there is no reward for getting to the level cap first, you take your time, look at the scenery, and actually read the quest text.

I guess its like the difference between having a 1-day pass vs an unlimited pass to an amusemant park. With a one-day pass, you try to ride as many rides as you can in a day. With an unlimited pass, there is no rush to get stuff done, you can actually enjoy yourself.
