I hate forcibly switching to third person.

Then maybe you don't know the meaning of the word "hate".

I'm not telling him what to think, or what he does think. He obviously doesn't like it. And that's cool. I don't, and cannot understand why this is such a huge deal to people, and I think people who would not buy a game / DLC just because certain aspects of it are in 3rd person is a huge over-reaction. But they can still have that opinion.

But by definition, if it's not game breaking, then you don't "hate" it.

Seriously if you're arguing that "do not like" =/= hate then see above. Second definition.

dislike = hate

To each his own I guess, I just think its weird that they created these vampire and werewolf models and all you want to see is your hands. However maybe its just that I was never into first person perspective. I use from time to time to see something closer or to aim but that is it.

I think those of us who don't like 3rd person want to feel as though we are the character, not something that is easily accomplished when you are looking at your own back. As for seeing the models, if I want to do that I can briefly switch to 3rd person and look, but how long is that really going to entertain me? Probably about 10 seconds.

Well I always support choice, and I am glad for the most part that they did give is the choice. because this could easily be a first person only game.

Well as I'm not a fan of 3rd person play when it comes to ES games part of why I didn't remain a werewolf was the forced 3rd person and so any DLC forcing that view I just will not be buying.

i hate it as much as i hate vampire lords. 3rd person is not meant for this game, all TES games are 1st person at heart and should stay that way. not to mention it makes werewolves even worse when i miss all my first few hits attempting to get lined up

There must be a way to at least mod in a true first person perspective on horseback and as werewolves.

For werewolves, transformation could briefly be shown in third person, but then return to first person if that was the point of view you were in before you transformed. The claws would probably just be temporary gauntlets crafted to look like the werewolf's paws. Not sure what all the animations will be for the Vampire Lord but I imagine a very similar system could work.

Horseback... I really see no reason why first person isn't possible, even with mounted combat being added in. In first person mode the animation of swinging a sword, mace, hammer or axe would probably be different though, but firing a bow or crossbow? No difference there. Besides, the best part of horseback riding, in my opinion, is the ability to set your horse to move in a different direction from where you are looking - just like in Oblivion - by using the strafe keys to turn. Activating auto-walk, and I could spend hours just looking around at Skyrim's landscape, briefly looking ahead to make sure I wasn't veering off the road.
