I have the feeling there will only be one big DLC

Dont get me wrong, I like this game..But it is missing way too many features and the DLC is coming out too late.

Unlikely, they know they will sell and they already have them planned. Big companies work this way.

Who knows, with this one they might make 'em as long as they think they can milk some money and/or until they start messing with the online TES and completely forget about single player one.

You do realize, don't you, that the MMO is not being made by the same company?

I had absolutely no idea. I'm not sure wether that's a good or bad news. :P But thanks for enlightening me, anyway.

I hope not, otherwise I won't have a reason to keep my eyes glued to a screen all day. Also didn't the first expansion for Oblivion come out after about a year? (horse armour, player abodes, etc... Do not count)

The MMO is being made by Zenimax Online Studios. And since it is a different company, and therefor a different staff, there is no reason it should interfere with what Bethesda Game Studios is doing.

Its either gonna be one really big DLC shivering isles size, though i highly doubt it - OR its gonna be 2 DLCS point lookout size, and thats my realistic point of view, though it does make me feel sad, but i think thats just the route bethesda is going...

Also yeah, The MMO is NOT made by bethesda! People gotta get that through their head, Bethesda said that years back when it was announced that there was gonna be an elder scrolls MMO, but i guess people got short memories now a days...

I recall the DLC questions before Skyrim came out, Todd responded saying they were gonna be much bigger than the DLC's in Oblivion and Fallout but less of them.
I'm surprised I recall this. :|

Well they could have been working on dlc details while they were busy working on Skyrim. Bethesda knows very well how big this game is and they dont want to hear people shouting complaints to them through forums and videos and such. Also they are showing it in secret at E3 so its got to be something big dont worry. :)

Yeah figured that part, I meant, because good news is that it won't interfere, and bad news is that it might stray away from TES feeling even more with a different team working on it.

Skyrim has sold incredibly well. Why would they not make as many dlcs as they think the market can handle?
Also, there is the possibility they will wait for access to next gen consoles before starting on Fallout 4, so they really need something worthwhile to do in the meantime. Can't make a game, do nothing for a year or so, then make the next one.

Have a new game out every year, just add some new area? Sounds awesome! Just don't give me the CoD treatment

dont worry about it, bethesda take time with their work, look at shivering isles.
i admire how time is taken to polish their game remember how todd howard described how they play tested skyrim.

i can't stand impatiant fans. i go on the GTA 5 trailer on youtube and come across so many people saying "rockstar you fail, you're taking too long to release games, step it up to CoD's pace and be proffesional!" and "wow rockstar stop taking so long god you guys are stupid!"

You got to hand it to Bethesda as they do try and give the fans what they want. They aren't just out to please themselves as at the end of the day its a business. I can remember reading threads on here of people asking for horse combat, crossbows and more lore on the Falmer. From what I can see from the trailer is that is all coming soon. Who knows, they may even make a dfuture dlc that includes rebuilding Winterhold into a thriving city as that has often come up.

If we buy, they will make.

I think we need to all be sensible with all games and not buy silly little over priced money spinner dlc. If people decisively decide to buy only what is worth its money, then the developers will make sure they offer something substantial.

Over-pricing on dlc is a quick way to loose fan's loyalty. That or leaving a game unfinished as if to force a purchase of a dlc.

Bethesda have already made it clear they are about this on Skyrim. I'm sure they will sell quite a few decent sized dlc as that is what the fans are asking for. I'll know definitely buy them if they are worth it. Skyrim is still my favourite game and I love the extra attention to things like lore and environment. It leaves me wanting to see more.

Nahh.. it's less than a year later and they were probably very occupied at first with patching... Just remember succesful games can permit to release expansion much later than the original release.. (If I'm correct Bloodmoon was also released around 2 years later) and, a more recent example, Civ V is also releasing a huge old-fashioned expansion pack 1,5/2 years later.. so it's not all that bad with modern day DLC/Expansions

There's going to be at least 2 dlcs, we knew that even before the game came out, as the x box gets the first 2 dlcs for skyrim one month earlier than the other platforms.

People have to remember that Bethesda were heavily criticised with Oblivion and Fallout 3, in that they slacked on patching and released DLC to the titles that increased the number of problems. It looks like this time around they are at least attempting to resolve most of the outstanding problems before DLC is released. Which is a good thing.

admitt it though, their DLC felt more like expansion packs, yes they slacked a bit but hell their dlc lasted a fair amount of playtime! :)

but i still agree with you, maybe they will be more encouraged to release more DLC

Yup completely different staff but.....the money still comes from Zenimax...and MMO's cost a lot of money. Money that cant be used to make another SP Elder Scrolls.

Better too late than too early, in this situation atleast.
If it gets released too early it will have more bugs and less features.
