You can't make them as fat as me, but I'm working on a mod.

It`s all down to the way the devs make the character creation. Oblivion wasn`t too bad and Mass effect was good, but FO3 I found really weird. If they do a good enough job it`s like having a computer paintbrush and all you require is patience.

Of course being an artist helps (or is that a piss-artist?)

You also need to be real honest in how you look, that`s why a mirror counts. people tend not to really show what they really look like.

This just struck me - how weird it must be to go 3p and see yourself on the screen. I always tend to make my characters the way I would like to look if I were that particular race, but it never occured to me to try to make my self...

Has anyone taken the time to do this? And if so, did you feel any different about that character?....

One one of the Tiger Woods games, I made a guy theat looked close and sounded pretty simiular to me

Fascinating. I thnk I always start out trying to find me, but then see all the interesting options and stray way off course. I will definately do it next time.

I could make an Imperial that comes close, I guess, but they're short. I'm as tall as a Nord or Altmer, but don't look like them.

I never made one that looked like me, however I did make an imperial that looked like Tim Tebow.

No. The Skyrim customization feature doesn't allow for me to create a character that's as ruggedly handsome as myself.

This.

Not so much in Skyrim, but other games.
However I have extreme difficulty in remembering faces and telling things apart RL unless one on one. On TV with actors not so much an issue.
I do try though to add what I perceive as features of my face in games as a puzzle and way to experiment.

Last serious attempt was ME2 because of the more cinematic feel.
I think it ended up looking like Daniel Dae Kim from what I could tell, which is a surprise.

I always try to make my character look like me in games. I'll even spend hours trying to get it right and record the exact values that I used in case I ever need to recreate it in the game.

I can barely make my Xbox avatar look vaguely like me. Every time I try with the bethesda face editor I end up creating a mutant like the toxic avenger.

My Redguard looks like me somewhat. I just have an issue with his height though. Lydia towers over him which feels strange since im 6ft4 and my guy looks like he's 5ft8. In every game I play I create me if I can. It sort of makes it hard for me to play anything other than rpgs now because I dont wanna use a character template thats forced on me...id rather make my own.

I subconsciously do it and when I realize I have I get a little mad at myself. I really was prone to do it in Oblivion with the Human races - not so much in Skyrim (especially choosing an Elf to play).

Tried and failed. I'd most likely be a Nord, or even more likely a Breton, since my face shape doesn't match any of the Nords I've seen/created. I'm pretty short, so Breton it is. I might as well make myself once, just to see. It would be interesting.

It's hard enough trying to make an Elder Scrolls character who isn't ugly. Creating someone who looked exactly like myself would be quite the accomplishment, though they'd still be ugly.

Unfortunately none of the haircuts available are as bad as mine...
Yea. The hair in Skyrim is hideous. There are a few ok looking hair models.

I tried, but there simply aren't enough sliders to control facial features. The end result is that none of the characters looked even remotely similar to me,so i gave up on it.

No, never. I always have a certain backstory in my mind from the start, and create the character based on that. Somehow, I do always end up with certain physical attributes I recognize from myself, without meaning or even willing to. I don't really like those either. Oh well.
