Hearthfire - Thread #2

http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=85634522 - Hearth Fire TARR.
Zenimax (Bethesda) have registered "Hearth Fire" under "Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices".

This leads me to believe this is the second Xbox 360 timed-exclusive dlc for Skyrim.

http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=85546517 - Dawnguard TARR.
The exact same method happened for the Dawnguard dlc.

Folks, Hearth Fire is the next dlc.

Thanks to user Phyber for pointing this out!

You can read the in-game book (Book Nine of 2920, The Last Year of the First Era) about Hearth Fire http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:2920,_Hearth_Fire,_v9

Perhaps this means https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=DGIgXeGC6Dg#t=106s from the GameJam?

Isn't the book about destruction magic, as well as different locations like Cyrodil, black marsh and Morrowind?

As already said, the book is part of a collection and tells only a bit of the whole story.

The 8th of Hearthfire is the summoning day of Nocturnal. Not that this is likely to have any relevance to the dlc, but we have no information, only speculation.

I have heard news of the new dlc being called Hearthfire due to some leaked files but a pot of people are saying that this is a book in Skyrim and a month on the calendar of Tamrial. When I looked up the month in the calendar it showed that it was called Heartfire as in heart and fire rather than hearth fire as in a fireplace. This made me wonder about the authenticity of the files and if the name of the dlc was Heartfire or Hearthfire. What are your thoughts on this?

From The Firmament :
'The Lady is one of the Warrior's Charges and her Season is Heartfire. Those born under the sign of the Lady are kind and tolerant.'

Also, from Pale Pass Crumpled Note :
' 14 of Heartfire 3E362
'I guess you found the message I told you about, old friend. We've traveled together for so long, and you're the only one I trust with the ring and my story.'

but from Purloined Shadows :
'For the week leading up to the Eighth of Hearthfire, the skies above Rindale were dark and alive as clouds of crows blotted out the sun.'

Also, from King Edward, part IX :
' All around the land prospered. Even the oldest could not recall a better harvest. In Hearthfire Josea birthed a beautiful baby girl with silver hair, but eyes of cornflower blue.'

Make of that what you will.

So maybe Mages will finally get some love with a magic-based DLC?

I hope they fix the hole that is a weak boring magic system in Skryim, however given they made a DLC on vampires. I would watch a movie to find out what the next DLC is going to be. They might even admit they just ignored the lore and copied a movie.

Where did this destruction magic idea come from? 2920 Hearth Fire (v9) is a conjuration skill book in both Oblivion and Skyrim.

in answer to what Impact969 said
They should make a dlc about some sanguine priest who get drunk and have six and base the storyline on the hangover. I would buy that.

the uesp mentions that the names heartfire and hearthfire is the same. As I understand it, its kinda like Colour and Color in British and American. Just a bit different name for the very same thing.

should be pretty epic in hearthfire (september) in TES lore there is a celebration for mages
  • Hearthfire 3rd
No other holiday divides the people of "cityName" like the 3rd of Hearth Fire. A few of the oldest, more superstitious men and women do not speak all day long for fear that the evil spirits of the dead will enter their bodies. Most citizens enjoy the holiday, calling it Tales and Tallows, but even the most lighthearted avoid the dark streets of "cityName", for everyone knows the dead do walk tonight. Only the Mages guild completely thrives on this day. In celebration of the oldest magical science, necromancy, all magical items are half price today.

Bring it on!!!! :)

There is a quest like that already in it :)

Hangover
  • The quest A night to remember may be an homage to the movie The Hangover. In the quest, you travel around Skyrim looking for your drinking buddy Sam and cleaning up all the problems you created while you were drunk.
Happy questing :P

Nothing has been said anything about the expansion all of the focus is on Dawnguard. I hope thwy expand magic in the game and give me back old spells and spell creation. Then give us a magic oriented quest line unrelated to necromancy that had already been done extensively in Oblivion.
