False, "Aelaeandi" means "Attractive" not "Winning", winning could be "Sigrandi" or "Vinnandi".

"He is winning the competition" - "Hann er ae vinna keppnina" or "Hann er ae sigra keppnina" both can be used here. However in no way can "winning" be translated as "Aelaeandi" which means attractive.

"The woman was attractive" - "Konan var aelaeandi"

However the word "vinna" can be used both for "win" and "work".

Example for used as "work": "He was working for Bethesda" - "Hann var ae vinna fyrir bethesda"

So it may be better to go for "sigra" or rather "Sigrandi"

So ultimately if he went for the word "Winning" in Icelandic it should be "Sigrandi".

Sigrandi sounds cool to me.

Even if I'm from Sweden the Vinnande doesn't sounds right imo but that's just me. :)

Can you even pronounce "pobjeda"? :P Btw. that's "victory" and not "winning", which would be "pobje?ivanje".

Btw. that's totally hilarious and not cool at all...but then again so is Charlie Sheen.

 I thought you meant "whining"... I was like, WTF?!?! Now I get it. It's good that you look for germanic/slavonic (or else) words. Latin words sound lame for this. Don't get me wrong, I love French (mother tongue), but "gagnant" doesn't sound good, it's ugly even for us. Yeah, nyero is nice.

Edit: I see you put portugese and Catalan in there... my bad. As long as the root is not the same as "gagner", it's fine.
