I usually refer to my cats as Kitteh. Of course for a name something ingenious simply needs to be given to it XD
I would go with either Chairman Meow, Officers Scratchers, Mister Kitty, or something that fits that means something to you :)

Catscratch Fever, Asian Cuisine, Meowchiavelli.
I Really like Meowchiavelli as a name for a kitten but I think it would be hard for the rest of my friends and family to say.^_^

You should give it a full human name, like William Howard Taft.

Cats do not recognize the concept of nickname, or name for that matter. They respond to a specific pattern of sound directed at them.
Cats are smart but remember that they are still simple creatures with no self-awareness.

Kellhus.

I also like Meowchiavelli from earlier in the thread. Along the same lines: Chairman Meow. I occasionally call mine Ja'Khajiit (little Khajiit) as a nickname, it might work as a proper name too.

I got https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/306089_10150278565734652_527944651_7890557_4483717_n.jpgs this summer. They're both 5ish months now. One's a cream tabby named https://s-hphotos-iad1.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/s720x720/303158_10150278565774652_527944651_7890558_5848333_n.jpg, the other is a black named https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/295774_10150275688134652_527944651_7862323_3674985_n.jpg.

This is the ideal thing to soothe my spirit after seeing that one picture in the Community Pictures thread :)

Cat Stevens, Cats Domino, Lando Catrissian, Benito Pussolini...

My girlfriend named ours Pepper after Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. He hasn't grown into his rank yet.

Chairman Miaow.

Do Americans do the pet insurance thing as much as we do over here in the UK? If so, get the kitteh some pet insurance so if anything goes wrong and he needs to go to the vets, it's all covered. Nothing makes me sadder than when animals have to be put down despite having a curable condition, because their owner didn't go for pet insurance and couldn't afford the procedure. :(

Promethius. You should call him Promethius.

And you should watch Cats 101 on Animal Planet for lots of handy tips on how to care for them. For example to stop them using your couch for a scratching post stick double sided sticky tape on it, and put a scratching post next to it for them.

I remember Data's cat was called Spot. I don't think it was striped, though. :geek:

Tassel. That is my cat's name. He is the greatest cat ever. He is actually an Alfiq Khajiit but there is no way I can prove it.

This is him in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYHI3hmjjWo

Mao actually means cat in cantonese.

If the kitten makes a lot of noise I vote for calling him Nebelwerfer.

When I first got my cat, she had an upper resp infection and she sneezed non-stop all the way home...

So I named her Kushami. (Achoo or sneeze in Japanese.) :)

I also had all these wonderful names I wanted for my dog, but once I got her, nothing at all from that list fit. You just have to get the animal first and then figure it out.
