Hinting at Morrowind dlc

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 2:45 am

has anyone else noticed that during some loading screens they talk about the red mountain being the center of morrowind?.. which is completely irrelevant to the skyrim premise.. what are they including this for? loading screens are usually meant for tips, and other useful information regarding the game at hand. Also, I noticed a thread where someone had claimed that all the provinces of tamriel were included in skyrim, yet you had to be able to console command your way out of the original map to see.. one being morrowind and even claiming to see the giant mountain (which could be red mountain)??

anyones thoughts?

What would happen to all the Morrowind characters that wielded spears?

Vvardenfell has been destroyed by the volcano. As cool as it is that Morrowind and Cyrodiil are present in Skyrim, I'm betting it's just for view distances. You can just about see White Gold Tower from the border of Skyrim for example.

I can't see them doing a DLC in another province. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

interesting fact: you can see the red mountain from the throat of the world.

i wouldnt mind going back to an unseen district of morrowind if its on ef 2 or 3 big addons.

I think that'd be too big for a DLC, but the expansion/expansions...

Yeah, Vvardenfell was destroyed, not all of Morrowind though, I doubt it will happen but I'd love to see mainland Morrowind.
The only bad thing about it would be its Argonia territory now.

Vvardenfell was destroyed. By a VOLCANO. So the island is still there. It is just that Vivec City was destroyed by the Ministry of Truth crashing into the earth (which in turn caused the volcano to erupt) and every other city on the island was probably covered in liquid hot magma. It also happened quite some time ago, and is probably habitable by now. However, the Argonians pushed into the southern part of Morrowind (where Mournhold is) sometime after Vvardenfell's destruction; so going back to Morrowind you probably will encounter more lizards than elves.

Some things you see in the game, and other people talking about it, would make you believe that the island just exploded and was completely wiped off the map.

Because that's the TES way. TES is lore heavy and deep (for those that care to look) and TES games have TONS of unrelated-to-this-particular-game books, text, implications in dialogue about what's happening elsewhere on Nirn in every game. People that are used to Bioware corridors may be surprised or put off by this.

Looking at the comments on NPCs in game, it looks that Morrowind is again in dunmer hands.

Well, in the game Morrowind, you could have a spear, and you can bring it to Mournhold in the Tribunal expansion, which is on the mainland. There. My character has one.

Find me a loading screen blurb from either Oblivion or Morrowind that mentions other provinces. I love how someone being optimistic automatically makes someone a Bioware really devoted fan. I guess we're all supposed to be grumpy realists like yourself.

Oh yeah, I'm sure the Dunmer in the Grey Quarter are having a jolly old time, why would they go back to Morrowind?! They are having so much fun in Skyrim!

Judging from comments made by NPCs in Skyrim, some Dunmer don't even seem to realize their home was destroyed.
