Oh and I also think it's a real [censored] move to us pro-Legion.
Why couldn't I reform Graham?
Why couldn't I slaughter Daniel and appoint myself as god to the Sorrows and manipulate them into joining the Legion?
Why couldn't I just simply help the White Legs?
I felt really awkward during the entire DLC to help these people "avoid" and even "kill" those who are planning to join the Legion.
wow, I didn't even think about the lack of choice. Now that you mention it, its no wonder I was so disappointed after beating it...It barley even felt like fallout...seriously, it killed any urge I had to play NV again for a while. I REALLY hope the next two will be better. now for my opinion on it:
1. Exploration was okay. Because of the logs in the computers in the caves I actually wanted to explore, as opposed to the mohave's side locations having very little to offer and feeling thrown in. most of the area was a pain in the ass to explore because of the constant cliffs. Much like the mohave, I wasn't a fan of the location. It was amazing when you first got there and saw over the cliffs, but once you got down, everything looked too much like a much larger version of the area around the great khans camp with drawings stuck on the cave.
2.difficulty-not entirely sure here, as I realized half way through that I had unintentionally dropped the difficulty down to very easy. Upon realizing and turning it back to normal it really wasn't that hard. The white legs were difficult, though not unmanageable, but once again the balance issues that both NV and 3 have in terms of weapon damage surfaced: melee kills fairly quick and easy as long as you can get close, but pistols are far too weak (making the new ones virtually useless despite my guns being maxed and in full condition) and explosives are too common and underpowered (if I hit something with a grenade, it should do some serious damage, and mini-nukes should be one hit kills anything assuming explosives are at least 50)
3. lack of choice- didn't even think of this till gabe pointed it out, but thats probably what made me loss interest. Normally I'd be dieing to play more and eager for the next DLC, but the neglect of Graham's character mixed with the lack of ability to change the outcome in more than a few minor ways killed it
Overall it was okay, but with the disappointing treatment of graham, locations that feel like nothing more than a prettier version of part of the mohave, being too short, and lack of choice for the first time in the history of FO:NV+3, I actually recomend that you DONT buy this. Its a waste of money. Judging from the shortness of it, only two side quests (that I've found at least. once is dealing with a shaman which seemed lacking cuz it was only for an unarmed weapon that was basically a yau-goi version of the much cooler looking deathclaw gauntlet, and one to find and save a baby one of the ram things (forgot what they are called)), and the fact that graham was awesome at first, then quickly forgotten about, I get the feeling that it started great then got interrupted for some reason mid-way through (lack of resources, poor management, poor management deciding to focus resources on a patch that fixed very little of the glitches and in some cases caused more problems instead of making a great add-on, ect.). Personally I'd rather have had a great DLC than a patch that changes weapon stats and ignores actual glitches). Despite the hatred of it, I'd rather have another MZ than HH. MZ (like all of the other DLC) had what made all the previous DLC so great: a new and completely different looking location, thus changing the scenery and giving you a new exciting area to explore (even if the story doesn't quite fit in the universe, though EVERY FO hinted at aliens w/ crashed ships and/or an alien blaster, so it actually does), where as HH just feels like more of the same after the first 10-15mins.
