How are you preparing for the CK+surprise?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 9:56 pm

Well i just removed all my mods (took me quite some time, even with the NMM).

Oh yeah, i'm having a staring contest with Steam. o.O

So i have skyrim ready and prepped for the CK release, hopefully a high-res pack aswell.
Clean and fresh :)

So what about you?

I'm getting some work done so I can justify fiddling with it. At least I'm trying. I seem to have found some distracting music on YouTube. :D

Listening to "Xion" theme from Kingdoms hearts, I hope the "Surprise" is Dlc Info.

I renamed my current Skyrim folder 0skyrim, installed Skyrim again from steam, and then switched the files names so I have a fresh copy and my old copy to play until then. But remember, no good mods are going to be out on day one, the only real reason for this would be if they are releasing a new texture pack (and the new update of PISE).

What about me what?

Oh come on, as if I`m going to prepare for something I don`t know if may or may not happen if it does it might by happenstance affect a mod, but probably won`t because it`ll be something completely different like a boring horse armour or mini DLC but then again it could just be Todd`s special birthday retroactively back to 1978!

Ooh, what are you listening to? My speakers are spitting out some X-ray dog and Two steps from hell atm :)

I really do not wish to know anything about the DLC yet, my main reason for it is that the DLC is most likely months away.
So to be fair....i'm not very good at this whole waiting thing, which svcks tbh...since i'm always on gamesites looking for NEW FRESH SCREENSHOTS of new games :P and apples trailer site =/

Yeah that's why i cleaned out my skyrim mod folder, just incase it's a High-res pack. Though i do doubt that they'll give us a Dx11 patch with it =/ (Not that you mentioned it, but just wanted to give my thoughts).

Oooh, if it's his birthday retroactively back to 1978..then we have to throw him a HUGE party :D And we all know that...WE LOVE PARTIES!

Wait a sec, so an install with NMM mods or whatever will be incompatible with Steam mods? Wut

Well, I am sitting here thousands of miles away from home awaiting my immigration visa interview tomorrow. Can't wait to get home and play around with the kit on Wednesday and hopefully I will have good news on the visa front. :D

For our Skyrim PC fans, the Creation Kit is on track for release on Tuesday. And, we also have a special surprise with it.

Now it doesn't say it's PC exclusive surprise (in a sense that the surprise is aimed for the PC community of Skyrim).
But if it's a PC exclusive thingie, all hopes for a DLC info (multiplatform atleast) is gone. Since it wouldn't be exclusive anymore =/

EDIT :

Oh no ill wish intended to the console players, i have Skyrim for the 360 aswell. (Christmas gift from my loving friends).

I've avoided the temptation to install any mods so far (other than a couple texture replacers). I want a clean slate to build my own mod from, without any preconceptions or 'influences' from other modders. I'm not going to lie, I'm dying to get my hands on the CK, but I've been making a point of not thinking about it and just enjoying the vanilla game.

I have a feeling that the moment I get my hands on the CK, though, that's it: I'll be lost down the rabbit hole for a very, very long time. :D

Which is exactly how they planned it. First, tease Xbox owners before the game comes out with exlcusive DLC promises. Then, tickle the shaft of the PC crew with a promise of, well, hell, just call it a surpise, doesn't matter. Then, roll out patch 1.4 so PS3 kids can play at all.

My plan is to go to sleep in a little bit, wake up in the morning, go to work... and maybe sometime around lunch check to see what the BIG WORLD SHAPING NEWS (that probably wont be all that world shattering) is.

And then I will get home, and proceed to neglect my family for a couple months while I spend time on the CK

I'm preparing to wrap up this playthrough and uninstall the game. Then I'll focus on my college classes, maybe do some snowshoeing or some fishing, maybe reinstall an old favorite or pick up one of the many games I've been meaning to play. Read a book. Put a new gelcoat on the canoe. Six or eight months from now I'll reinstall Skyrim and see how the modding community has improved the game.

I'm also bracing myself to be completely underwhelmed by whatever this "surprise" is.

Me? Oh, nothing. I'm just sitting here. Waiting around. Taking arrows to the knees. Swords to chests. You know, normal stuff. And don't get me stated on my mutated hand and my rabid hair lice. I'm going to try to push these zombies off me when I can (they're sort of in the way). Ah, I also believe i have to walk back to my house. It's not good when you wake up under the Pacific Ocean. Oh, and was there always this squid on my back? I don't know... whatever. Just the usual, can't wait for the CK.
