how awkward were your teen years

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:16 pm

I'm 16 and I'm NOT a teenager. I downright refuse to be stereotyped, I do almost anything to be different andd break these stereotypes. I don't find many things awkward at all. I really hate the negative conotations associated with being this age.

I've only got 1 and a half years left as a teenager, looking back at how it is so far its been good. I was very angry and got in many fist fights until I was about 16, when I took up boxing. I've stuck with it, had a few amateur fights and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Not very awkward at all really.

This is not a subject matter I am willing to see a comedic side to. All my friends ask me to get a cell phone and I refuse, just to be different.

Heh. :P

Well, I'm eighteen so I suppose I'm not really out of my teens yet, but all of my teen years till now haven't been that terrible or awkward. I mean, I'm a pretty shy person, and I'm not that great with people (getting better though), but I don't think that's really got much to do with been a teenager, and more with just who I am. I suppose in a few years I'll look back in retrospect on these years and see how they were much more clearly.

They be awkward so far.
Probobally cause I'm to centered on modding and my school work to do much else.

Not that homecoming wasn't magical....

*remebers when her gum fell out of her mouth, onto the floor and as she bent down to pick it up, somebody steps in it*
Ah....good times, good times :D

And now a girl who I'm not really into is getting a little to close for comfort.

Any girl I do like is indifferent to me, and any girl I don't like moves in.

Like when my friends set me up with this one girl....turned out she allready had a girlfriend, but still wanted to date me, AND she wanted to introduce me to her girlfriend.....and honestly, I wasn't to attrected to her in the first place :lmao:

Arg...girls is making me life awkward...

Bad. Shortly after them I was pulled out of college by the campus police for mandatory testing and kept out until "potential threat" status was officially ended after a mental breakdown. The entire teen years were pretty much just a long, unpleasant buildup.

My teen years were so bad I've repressed most of the years.

I recently ran into someone I apparently went to HS with, knew him well enough back then that he remembered me still, but I have no memory whatsoever of him. Funny how the mind works to protect itself.

teen⋅ag⋅er  [teen-ey-jer]
Use teenager in a Sentence
?noun
a person in his or her teens.

Sorry. You're a teenager. And you obviously have a terrible idea of stereotypes. And Antibody is right, you're being rebellious. Non-conformity has no difference than conformity. You're conforming to those who don't conform. Sorry to burst your little world. You're nothing special.

Tech College is like this for me. One person still calls me "The mask kid".

Like what?

You never know when something happens and there isn't a landline, or all the payphones are broken.

I'd also like to say that in my experience, those who make a big hubub about being non-conformist tend to be the most conformist in terms of expression.

Like what?

For example, what if you were getting mauled by a mabari hound? Or worse, what if the collectors came to your planet looking for life forms. What would you do then?

Expericing them. It helps that I spend a lot of time in Debate and Academic Competiton with other nerds like myself :P If I attempted to hang out with 'popular people' I'd probably be unable to restrain myself from calling them idiotic [censored]s who will fail at having a future in life.

Mine were interesting to say the least. School fights, chick mind games, somewhat bad grades in classes I didn't either like or cared for the teacher all that much, blah blah blah.

Same old thing right? I just never had acne, bullies, or anything like that.

They were a bit awkward in the early years, then I realized I was lagging behind on social skills. So I fixed that and now its all groovy, can fit in with just about anybody.
