How BIG is your Monitor?

What size would it make me forget I'm just playing a game?

I could run a TV through my laptop by HDMI, so I chose TV. Best Option, project it on a wall in a room filled with Audio equipment.

Asus VW246H, but there is no 24" monitor in the list above. I had to go for a 25" monitor.

15.6" laptop monitor, 1920x1080

I do want to get an external monitor eventually but I really don't know what size yet. My dad has a 26" NEC but I think that's a bit too big for gaming. I think 22" would be good but I don't know if I could get an IPS monitor that small.

Two ASUS 23.6" monitors.

You'll never forget you're just playing a game unless the game is good.

You should learn to do math. Big monitors svck, becaues all it does is decrease the PPI, leading to a fuzzier image. It's bad enough that to this day we're still stuck with 100-130 PPI for 20'' monitors.

svcks having to lean in and squint playing shooters on my 15.6" laptop screen. And that's 140 PPI.

Obviously there's a limit on how small you want your monitor to be, but I want a 200-250 PPI 22'' monitor. So 4200x2625 22'' (225 PPI) monitor would be awesome. It'd be so much better than my 105 PPI monitor :(

Obviously textures must scale too.

I've got a 23" monitor, with a resolution of 1920x1080. It's pretty awesome. (Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM)

My previous one was a 17" monitor, 1280x1024. So that was a pretty good upgrade.

A bigger monitor might not be much of a visual improvement, but it does make things easier to see. Similar to playing 2D games with scaling; 2x scaling would decrease the apparent PPI by half, but it still looks a lot better.

Well, besides the actual improvements to the screen and the massive improvement that is upgrading to widescreen, you actually washed out

12802 + 10242 = 2686976 | sqrt(2686976) = 1640 | 1640 / 17 = 96.5 PPI

19202 + 10802 = 4852800 | sqrt(4852800) = 2203 | 2203 / 23 = 95.8 PPI

:frog:

As much as it pains me to admit it, Apple is the first company to push for an actual increase in monitor PPI for consumers in a long time...

22" widescreen, though i have setup my monitor and TV so that i can use them both from the couch (about a meter away), so i could use a bit bigger one. My TV is only 19" though :hehe: Both with 1920x1080 resolution.
