Dead Money is definitely a challenge. There were NUMEROUS parts where I died multiple times from something.. traps, Dog's suicide in the Sierra Madre Kitchen and all the gas valves, etc. etc. etc.

It's a challenge and you can get some really, really cool items out of it to take with you into New Vegas (ex: gold bars, new armor, new weapons).

According to my save I made before entering the DLC (just in case there were any issues) and my save now that I'm back in New Vegas - I spent about 9 hours with Dead Money.

Toooootally worth it.

I shoot 'em in the head with the AR. Two bullets and down they go. Then out comes the Cosmic Knife and off come the limbs.

Ghost People are pansies once you know what to do.

Seems like the VATS accuracy is terrible for me. I will be a few yards away and only come up with something like 35%. Draining VATS with your gun of choice and then charging in with the bearclaw fist works pretty well. I hate when they come in sets of three or four.

Sadly, I have played through the DLC. And yes, I beat it. Let's start with the enemies. Counting the holograms there are what, five or six different things to fight. Not including the radroaches. You have three ghosts with different skins and that's it unless you want to include the lame as hell holograms. That's number one. Number two is the actual environment that the dlc takes place in. Droll and completely uninspired. There's no variety at all. Add on top of that the loveliness of the exploding collars which restricts your ability to fully explore the entire dlc. Do I need to get into the glitches as well? hardcoe fans will lap this dlc up as you guys apparently have done. I had no problem with the difficulty of it. Thinking through puzzles is fantastic. Having to randomly run through areas hoping your collar stops beeping is not a puzzle. It's an exercise in monotony.

Erm.. finding ways to move through alarms, get an angle where you can blow them up, and finding safe spots between them to reset your collar's beeping is in no way puzzle-ish?

Hm.

I'm being dead serious when I ask you this. Do you honestly think that is a puzzle?

It does require some strategy.

True, and I get what you're trying to convey. But they are two different things. I'm not saying I won't buy another DLC again. I'm just saying for the first entry into New Vegas expanded areas, this one fell woefully short.

The gold was nice but what was the point of it? Snag maybe six or seven bars at the cost of dropping equipment in a place you can never return to. There were two things that I genuinely liked about this expansion. Raising the level cap and the music while you're out in town I felt was phenomenally good.
