So I got all 37 gold bars and this is how I get every cap from them.

There are 2 vendors that carry a lot of caps, gun runners and Sgt. Contreras at McCarren, they both carry around 8000 caps.

If they don't sell enough stuff you want to buy to equalize the purchase, buy expensive ammo types that you don't use:

For example I don't use .308 / 50. mag bullets. So buy that from them to equalize the sale of the gold bar (this is assuming you have a 100 barter skill or your wearing outfits/using chems to have 100 barter skill)

Use the .308 or 50. mag ammo as commerce for other vendors who have considerablly less caps to offer. Use 12.7mm or whatever ammo you don't use.

There, you have gained every cap from your bars.

If you are enemies of the NCR like I am, just use the NCR engineering suit as a disguise to get into McCarren.....or just shoot your way through, Contreras doesn't care what side you are on.

yea this is a good strategy, I used to do this in Morrowind with Dadreic armor.

Clean out all the shops around town, Or maybe just buy out the vegas strip.

Myself, I'd be likely to want them all so I could stack them in my room in a pyramid and admire the shiny pile every time I walk by (I'm assuming you can drop them) - the collector's bug thing. But getting every cap via selling...that's a lot of prosttutes. :whistling:

i got all 37 to but it was easy all i did was sneek out of room he thinks he been traqed in vault i sneek back to vault get gold turn off security system walk to lift on the right and leave he tryes to shoot me but once im by the lift and hes there i shoot him and go

You can drop them, but you can't stack them or move them around like teddy bears. Once they hit the floor you can't move them around with the Z key. Thus why I stood in my bathtub in Novac and dropped them all over the floor and in the tub. It's my magic gold vault!

Well initially I thought no, but ED-E has now lost 2 Anti-Materiel Rifles i bought from the Gun Runners just by keeping them in his inventory. These things aren't cheap, ED-E..

Why sell them?
You can make tons of caps very easily, but you'll never see another gold bar aside from those 37 you take.
Why waste them? I stacked most in my bunker along with quite a few legion denarii/aurei, pre war money, NCR dollars, and even some counterfeit bottlecaps.

I also give some to factions and people I like. But they aren't gone, I can see them whenever I drop by.

How the hell did you get all 37 without being trapped in the vault?
