How to get to MorrowindCyrodil landmasses for those of us on

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 1:24 am

Alright, so, after seeing some videos of the other landmasses of Tamriel (they're ALL in Skyrim), I grew envious of not being able to get there on the console due to noclip. But glitches still exist.

First off, you have to go to Morrowind's border just north of Stendarr's Beacon. It's the only bordergate without an actual gate. Second, you need a horse (I used Shadowmere). Go through the arch of the gate until you can't physically go any further, then dismount after angling the horse to face away from the barrier. You should come through on the other side and... Bam! You're in Morrowind. It should be noted that you can't return, though if you wait for an hour or more, Shadowmere will spawn with you on the other side so that you can avoid walking.

It's incredible. Everything from Morrowind is there--Vvardenfell, the Red Mountain, Solstheim... All of it. I've only explored parts of Cyrodil, but the White-Gold Tower and the Imperial City's there... Makes me wonder if they'll add the other provinces for DLC. Anyways, enjoy.

Do you mean to say that they actually put the city there, or is it just the landmasses?

I've seen pictures of the tower from a distance, but I didn't know you could get out of Skyrim and explore it. I'm assuming they didn't put any detail into the city? Just grey blocks for the buildings etc.

Yes, it's the basic outlines of Cyrodil and Morrowind. But they're still somewhat filled in with trees and the like... And the Imperial City is entirely there, but uninhabited and the buildings are dull blocks of grey. White-Gold tower is pretty detailed though.

I did this the other day when the walls in Whiterun didn't load and I walked through them. I managed to explore Cyrodiil and Morrowind, though it was extremely buggy since I was technically still in the Whiterun cell and had fallen through the ground. The tower didn't load for me, but I managed to find Vvardenfell.

My experience may have been different since I got there in such a bugged-out manner, but no. All of the landmass I saw beyond the boarders of the map were brownish green for the most part.

Possibly. Hopefully. But that'd be a lot of work.

Using my method, the textures load accordingly. Half of Morrowind looks just as great as Skyrim, but towards Red Mountain and beyond, the textures lack in detail. they still vary, though. Red Mountain is black and trees are brown and grass is green etc.

You should make a video guide, I've been trying this for ages with no luck.

Did you go south beyond Cyrodiil? In my screwy method once I got past the southern boarder of Cyrodiil there was nothing but water. No Black Marsh or Elsweyer.

I haven't, but I've seen videos of people getting in to Elsweyr's landmass, though it's even less detailed than that of Cyrodil's or Morrowind's. I will say that I believe there will be some sort of Morrowind DLC, as the path leading from Skyrim to Morrowind is incredibly well done and obviously hand crafted.

If they added the realms of Morrowind and Oblivion, this would game would be the best open world game, and have the most ambitious DLC and modding community, of all time. But it's a pipe dream - there's absolutely nothing concrete in it. :(

Id rather they open up Orsinium (sp?) because the orcs get little to no love. Plus, its a smaller area and totally expansion worthy.

Can you give more details on how to cross over? I found the arch way but it stops me from going through. I tried making my horse face away but it doesn't make me cross over. Thanks.

I'm having the same issues, even did the Dark Brotherhood quests just to see if Shadowmere produced different results! But nothing yet.

360 or PS3? I did it on the 360. Also, I made sure that the horse was sort of pressed up to the corner of the arch for leverage.

I'm on PS3. I can see the arch but it stops me about 10 feet short of the arch, I cannot touch it.

What, seriously? It stops me about a foot outside of the arch.

The IC itself isn't there, just the tower. And it's pretty low res.

However, from my experience the ground isn't solid, it's just LOD. I don't know how you managed to walk there.

It's solid, but things like trees and rocks I can just walk through. Red Mountain itself isn't solid and you can just walk through it. Same with White-Gold tower. And yes, you are correct about IC, I didn't realize until I had gotten closer. Still, wonder why they added this to the game.
