How long did it take you to get to the strip

Post » Mon Feb 28, 2011 5:47 pm

Ok - I'm a bit of a wanderer. I tend to wander along and when I see one of those clear triangle things appear on my radar thing..... I just have to go take a look.

I'm putting myself forward as taking the longest time to actually get to the strip. 41hrs. That's right folks! My first game. I've been wandering around, talking to everyone, doing any quests I come across - and didn't get to the strip until I'd been playing for 41 hrs.

Is that a NV world record???

You know, I don't right recall. I Do know I made it some time during my epic 3 day staying awake binge that started the day it was delivered to my door. How many hours though.....well those 3 days are kind of lost in a fog.

You should make a poll of this thread. I was going to, just never got around to it.

It took me around 14 hours to get there :tops:

50 hours. I wanted to clear a backlog of 10 side quests before heading there. But needed the Dr.'s implants asap.

Well I got to Freeside and decided I didn't want to go in just yet...I'm at 34 hours I believe and I haven't gone inside yet, just completed some SQs that had managed to build up.

I guess I'm the oddball, I had a max clip distance set and a scope so I saw the strip early and as an easy place to make money (unrealistic i know but it happened regardless, House always wins my @**) so first run through I was there in probably 5 or 6 hours. Depends on how much you decide to neglect the quests and how much/what direction you wander.

I don't even know what is it. Haha. I'm 20 hours so far.
OH you mean Vegas? Darn I got there @ about 18 hours. :brokencomputer:

EDIT: I know I'm been a noob here, but does the little triangles say there is an event? And what is the differences between a full and an empty?

I played my first character to level 28, over 70 hours, and he still hadn't entered the Strip. He had finished exploring Freeside, though.

My quickest time getting to the strip was 30mins using a lvl1 character

heres how i did it

1. Go to sloan
2. Travel from sloan to neils shack
3. Go passed neils shack and climb up the moutain cliff behind his house
4. after getting up the cliff, hug the cliff walls and run around the cliffs until you reach the eastern side of blackmoutain
5. When youve ran out of running space, jump off the cliffs and run as far north as you possibly can (avoiding deathclaws
6. Now that the hard parts over, follow the long 15 till you get to freeside then enter the strip from there

This tip would work for starter players who wanna get to new vegas earlier instead of leveling up

About thirty hours. Eventually the only sidequest I had left required me to enter.

It's in the booklet. Compass Explanation: Empty triangle = location not visited yet. Full triangle = visited location.

i got there at level 8 without having to pay the 2000 caps by sneaking past the deathclaws. Unfortunatly i went into the first big casion and when i refused to give up my weapons i got attacked. i quickly zoned back out and the game changed. some quests canceled and others were added. it was pretty wild. since then i have been doing quests and just found the implant place. now im just raising money so i can get the regen implant. i have 11k so far. just need a little more.

Somewhere around the 40 hour mark for me. I spent alot of time exploring and doing quests before hitting the Strip. I burned through my first playthrough of Fallout 3, and I didn't want to do that again. Taking my sweet old time.

18 hours. Fully did Goodsprings, Primm, and Novac, and then did Helios One and REPCONN. Walked right in at about 18 hours.

My second day playing? I'm guessing about ten to fifteen hours in.
I reached Boulder City and encountered Victor who I followed to Freeside. :)
