How long have YOU played for?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 6:09 pm

Jesus, how can you guys play 150 hours+? I've only played about 45 and I'm already burned out. The questlines are so short and have a worse story than Morrowind/oblivion. Don't want to be another Skyrim basher, but come on, The Companions was terrible. Mage and Theives guild were good, still preferred Oblivion's Thieve's and Morrowind Mage's. But Main quest can be beaten in like 6 hours... come on.

Then what's left? Get daedric weapons that are worse than an iron dagger you enchant? Fight the 100th dragon? Every character runs the same speed, every character jumps the same speed, there are less weapons and armor choices, every perk is just "you do more damage" and if it's not it's kinda worthless.
Every. Single. Guild. Is a save the world/be the hero questline. Morrowind guilds were there to be just that, guilds.

Don't see the reason to remove pauldrons, spears, throwing weapons, halberds, speed, acrobatics a direct stat to increase your carrying capacity. Also, don't see why they made all the questlines shorter. Guess they needed memory for the graphics but I'd much rather have more content than better graphics. Besides, all the terrain and cities are exactly the same. Everything looks like Bruma. Nothing comes close to being the hub and icon of the game like the Imperial City was in Oblivion. Music is worse than all elder scrolls games, game saves for you every 5 seconds and you fight the same monsters over and over. No slaughterfish, no Umbra, no fun.

Your post actually proves that you have not played the game more than ~45 hours because it's full of nonsense.

Me, 242 hours

Couple of weeks and fed up with it. Back to New Vegas for me.

Just sticking my nose in to see if any others feel the same.

234 hours. Level 45. Done the main quest up to where I go to High Hrothgar.

Not started the Companions, Mages Guild, Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood quests yet. Still lots of the northern part of the map yet to explore (not yet been to Solitude, Dawnstar or Winterhold and the surrounding areas).

There's no rush.

I've played for 400 hours, but you and I obviously don't play the game the same way. I'm not looking "to beat" the game. Greying out the quests does nothing for me. I'm not running down an achievement checklist. I like to explore and allow myself to follow different breadcrumb trails. Even if you were to fast travel with blinders on, completing every guild questline like a WoW player rushing to the level cap, you still aren't going to see the game in 45 hours. To me, it's the difference between skimming over a novel and reading it. Maybe this is just a 45 hour game to you, which is fine. That is a lot of hours for just $60.

I agree with both of you, the game is short. The amount of hours comes from you replaying the game over and over again, sure you end up doing the same stuff but that stuff is fun anyway. I've done nearly everything with the game and I am level 81, I am still no where near bored and I am constantly thinking of new builds to try. Plus roleplaying add countless more hours to the game.

The main quest lines (Companions, Mages, Dragons) are all quite short. Don't buy the game if that's all you intend to play. That said, I've only created one character so far, I'm level 42, I've got about 100 hours into the game, and I don't intend to quit soon.

At the same time though, I can't deny that I am a little disappointed that the most interesting quest line belongs to the Dark Brotherhood. Murderous assassin work generally aint my thing - especially when it's done in service to some freakish Daedra.

I've put in 148 hours on an Imperial who is on level 52. I've finished all the main quests except for the Dark Brotherhood and right now I'm just exploring every inch of the map. I probably won't start another character for a while.

604 hours

http://raptr.com/iijosephxii

Nord Warrior Thane of Whiterun/Companions/Stormcloaks to lvl 48

Altmer Robed Mage: Thane of The Reach/College/Imperial to lvl 52

Dunmer Spellsword: Thane of Eastmarch/ DB/ Imperial/ Daedric Artefacts to lvl 28 (currently playing)

Bosmer Archer lvl 20 no questlines started yet.

I have another six characters that I have created and are cloud saves - one for each race. I RP each character and only do quests that fit their personality/race etc.

I still haven't been in the Blue Palace, set foot in Morthal or started the thieves guild. I would say after 604 hours I have only done 25% of what I want to do in Skyrim - great game.

Just hit the 300hr mark and lvl 73.

And yes, twice in a row I was boiling eggs (for egg salad) and both times completely forgot about them while playing skyrim. The first time I came out and there was no water left and they were beginning to burn. The second time I heard a loud POP and I knew right away I forgot them again lol.

Geez, you guys have way too much free time on your hands. When I heard some people had played Skyrim in excess of a hundred hours, I automatically considered that the average maximum that anyone would ever really play. My mind is just reeling from the truth that some of you have played six times that amount.

310 hours on only one level 37 character. A male redguard spellsword who is a devout Dibellan; married to Senna and living in Markarth. He is arch-mage and harbinger of the companions. Has completed MQ through Elder Knowledge and completed 4 daedric quests. No TG, DB or civil war quests. As a Dibellan, he only rolls with females and is devoted to buffing, training and side adventuring (160 misc tasks) with his female force of 6 (Lydia, Jordia, Iona, Ria, Njdia and Brelyna). He owns all of the homes except Windhelm, and spends inordinate amounts of time catering to his female force, and worshiping Senna and Dibella in Markarth. He is straight up busy. Dibella pwns him.

135 hours into one character, and the main quest is bugged FML

if your on PC you can use the console to fix it, UESP wiki will show you the way ;)

I have 115 hours logged. My first character and am maybe halfway through the thieves guild line, its the only quest line ive done in that time:P Mostly just worked on my experience and misc and side quests.

I am playing much less now than i was a couple weeks ago, probably because i'm waiting to get my hands on the CK.

Played 108 hours.

135 hours now, slowly catching up to those past 200!

176 Hours (Steam) across a half-dozen characters. Reached level 30 on a couple of them (Nord Conjurer and Dunmer Barbarian), never gotten further than High Hrothgar in the MQ with any of them, finished the College on one and the Companions on another. Currently playing a Dunmer Mage (cloth, only magical skills).
