My alchemy is one hundred its the only skill I have at a hundred. I have most of the perks in it I will not get the reveal the ingredient effects perks those are redundant for me. I will get the last two perks on the tree tho.

I recently maxed out my 1st skill (2-handed) at level 39. I am only leveling 3 skills on this character: 2-handed, light armor and smithing. Smithing is currently 93, light armor is 89. When smithing and light armor are maxed out my character's leveling days will be over.

Sneak, Smithing, Alteration, Lockpicking - secondary

I am level 42, I have NO skills maxed out, but archery and stealth are over 90 - those are the two skills I purposely worked on though. And boy, feels like the last 15 levels or so go reeeeaaaally slowly. I have the perks almost all filled out for each of them. Lock-picking and Alchemy are also creeping up because I use them both. Alchemy, I make health potions and poisons, so I have added some perks there, but lockpicking I never bothered to perk. I have actually not used perks every turn, so I have some to play with, as I progress and see if I want to branch out a bit or something.

I find I don't mind the system as much I thought I might when originally reading about it. I purposely made my character to be very strong in certain areas, and I have control over that, using perks and using the skills the most - I don't do everything with one character, because it wouldn't make sense to me. She rarely uses magic, has a couple spells she can toss out, but I have not put any points into Magicka on level up, and so on. The other stuff I see level up occasionally. Like I'll bust out a dagger on occasion, or try some enchanting and see the skill level up, but since I just mess around with them occasionally, I don't bother with their related perks.

I think at level 50, I had only one skill at 100 (Smithing, hit 100 at lv48). As for "maxed" on perks.... depends on what your definition of "maxed" is. If it's "got the top perk", then I only had one skill, Smithing. And I probably won't have more than one or two others on that character. I didn't find the upper perks in many of the skills to be all that compelling. My main combat skill, 1-handed, for instance.... only six or seven perks spent there, and nothing above the mid-level ones.

I agree, quite a few of the Perks are not necessary to have, as they dont offer anything amazingly usefull. Like the left hand side of the Sneak branch, apart from Muffled movement, i dont see the remaining 4 as being necessary. Same with a few of the other Perks in other skill trees. i hate having to take crappy perks to getto good ones as well, lol.

Yeah, but that is such a typical game mechanic. You play other games with skill trees of one stripe or another, and you still have to waste a "turn" so to speak, taking a skill or talent you know you'll never use, because the next line on the talent tree has a spell you need and want as soon as you can get.

I found it very easy to simply not perk every level. As I was progressing, deciding what felt good or what I was using, I would usually have a bank of 3 perks or so to use if I wanted to. So when I realized that I needed to bolster my damage dealing with poison, adding a few perks in the alchemy tree was needed to be able to make better poisons.

I'd like the Silence Perk in sneak, but i'm not going to waste points on Light foot & roll. I have eyes to see pressure plates & rolling ? useless, unless there are some Indiana Jones style, timed closing doors, lol. it would be nice if once you reach the top perk, you could roll back, and pick down the opposite side(can you ?).

I usally know what i want at the time, and i look at how far im off the next perks, so i keep one or two spare. usaully this combo is for Backstab & Deadly Aim, they are close togher.

I saved my first 10 perks before i did anything... after that i know what i was doing.

I'm still with my 11.11.11 char and the only skills i have left are two and one handed... don't wanna grind those

Oops edit: and archery
