How many times have you restarted?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:32 am

Without finishing what I wanted to finish? None. Every time I've created a new character, I've done what I wanted then retired him/her

First charcater was a theif, murderer and Stormcloak supporter (no db for this one...intentional) Main goal was to play a theif, as well as one who would murder someone on sight for looking at him wrong...or anyone who called him a milk drinker. Only did the main quest on him to see what it would be about.

Second character was a pure mage who never even touched a weapon in her life. only did the College of Winterhold on her.

Third and current character is very similar to my second, only she IS the Dragonborn and an Imperial Legion supporter. No weapons for her, except maybe for a staff for backup.

A lot, if only for character creation/cosmetic reasons. Took a long time to make use of it, I guess. I mean, if you're going for better symmetry and such, it's hard to get a good view of your character with just the intro view. Things look different in game.

all the time.

i've restarted my current nord too many times to count. at least, 4x since i got the basics of skyrim down. but, before that, while i was learning the game, a ton of times.

recently, due to some great rping ideas from people on this forum i've wanted to restart again. it just keeps nagging at me that i should play a character from beginning to end with certain rules governing the gameplay. it eats away at me and i feel i'm not being... honest or true to the character build, lol. or, something like that.

the biggest problem is that the content is so limited that i don't really want to do it all over again. now, if the gameplay was more meaningful and there were more optional approaches within the game to get things accomplished, then, i'd restart again in a sec.

i've restarted so many times, although i do keep my favorite characters around. I have one pure warrior, one hybrid mage/warrior, and an assassin. That way i can do every questline, also i'm constantly making characters that don't get much farther than riverwood before cluttering up my save lists

I'm still on my first character on level 63 . It's my first elder scrolls game and I've been playing it solid since it's release. I have no need to play the game with another character yet but once I've completed every ounce of gameplay I might play through the game again with another character.

LOL. Seven times for me. I threw one away about 6 hours, trashed one more a bit later in and have saved the other 5. A civilization hating Orc at level 12. A free spirit Kajiit at level 25. A way OP Mage at level 46. A Nord warrior/battlemage at level 43. My pride and joy, the signature character, a Dark Elf is at level 52. He includes the lessons I learned from the others and is the only one I have not become, at least somewhat, bored with.

Just to add to my other post, I bet i would've have never restarted on a PC (I'm on xbox). lol I've seen the character creation on PC.. it seems more accurate and clear to what is in-game. I can only get similar graphic quality in certain lightings.

Kind of sad actually.. so much time wasted, just because of platform.

It's not just this game.

In any RPG or MMO, I've always had restartitis. Or I would usually call it alt-itis. I love every character, and it's not that I get bored, it's just that... I come up with a new character concept or something that just sounds too cool and I just HAVE to try it out, and end up shelving the last character.

I'm thinking those of us that are chronic rerollers have a certain personality type or something. :)

Hah, I've played the game up to level 35 and never even tasted overpowered-ness (lol?). I actually played over 200 hours on that character, and have never played more than 15 hours on all of my subsequent people. Every time I create a new character based on a new roleplay idea that I think of in spare time, they come out pretty shallow so I get bored... and the cycle repeats

7 character's: the first was my test char got to lvl 43 battlemage type. Warrior 25, mage 15, thief 10.... and had to start all over again when my x-box crashed... 4 dog's and a wild squirel in the house, I was really mad....and then laughed my @$$ off when I got the mental picture again.

So I've started the 3 archtypes again, Playing the thief the most at the moment.
