How many of you have not had problems?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:34 pm

So I have been reading these forums and am seriously debating wether or not to get the game now. I've read alot of problems about it but was just wondering who HAS NOT had problems?

Is it also possible that said problems are region specific, or would that not make a difference.

You're posting this in the issues forum. Most people who do not have issues probably won't come here. ;)

while povuholo has a point, im coming here to see what kind of problems people are having so i know what to watch for.

as for me personally, i only had the game freeze in one spot twice. but other than that, and the weathered 10mm pistol glitch, i've had no major issues. however, the game breaking bug worries the hell out of me so i have multiple saves backed up as a precaution.

I installed the game to my HD and I clear the cache by holding down the "A" button when ever I boot the game up...

I've yet to have any significant problems.

What do you guys think about the problems being region specific? Is it a possibility? I have been looking forward to this game for a long time now but Im not as excited about launch tomorrow if it is full of bugs.

I had multiple saves as well the problem is that you can never know when the bug starts. I had like 6 or so saves space in 30 minute or so intervals.... Most are corrupted/cant load cause of DLC error thingy. But you will never know that it happened until you completely go back to main menu and try to load it again. And if you go back 4 hours to just have it happen again what's the use.

Thing is no one really knows what causes it or whether it will be fixed anytime soon.

Also I voted I had problems and was disappointed..... but in reality the game (when it is working) is amazing. But if bugs are not fixed it's unplayable for me. so that's why I am disappointed. if this came out with no issues it would have been definite game of the year.

It seems the marketing department just wanted to beat the COD to a release and sacrificed quality. The bad part is that the developers will get blamed for all this.

I love the idea of the game. It would be awesome. Honest opinion...wait until it's patched and see if they fix it...if they fix it buy the game. If it still fails do not buy. I took my copy back to Gamestop already. It's now officially on my "Wait till it's a Greatest Hit" list.

What a coincidence. I was considering opening a topic explaining my experience in case some sense can be made of it.

I have very few problems with any games, including Oblivion, FO 3 and FO NV. I don't patch games unless I see that the patch offers some type of in-game enhancement. If it's not broken...

I've been able to run many games that are considered very buggy with little or no trouble. These include Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, Metro 2033, NWN and NWN 2. I started thinking about what I might be doing that other people may not. I keep my drivers (video, chipset and, when I was using a plug-in card, audio) fairly up to date. I don't play much music on my system and what I do play I play on the default media player, so I only have codecs that get installed with the OS. About all I use the box for is gaming and surfing. I have no office suites, video editors and other heavy duty progs. At this time I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with UAC disabled, no firewall other than my modem/router and full admin rights. I have my OS installed on Drive C: and all of my other apps installed on Drive D:. None of my games are installed in a Program Files folder. I defrag and run a registry cleaner at least weekly. I have no (that's zero) programs with auto-update enabled. While I'm gaming, I turn off my messenger.

When I ran XP and Vista, I had things set up similarly, and that's about all I can think of.

I someone happens to be doing a format and has the opportunity to set their system up like this, even if temporarily, I'd be curious to hear about their results.

I didn't bother voting.I experienced bugs but I was not disappointed in the game.Maybe you could have actually added a choice which doesn't make us sound like we hated the game or lucky owners who had no bugs yet?

I'll be back to vote in a couple days or so. My CE comes tomorrow, but hopefully there'll be a patch out before I have time to run into all the disastrous bugs. 360 Btw.

The options kinda svck for the poll. I have had issues, (just a couple bugs, one is effecting gameplay though), but I'm not disappointed with my purchase.

Just very few minor bugs like the body glitches I haven't had any major bugs like crashing or freezing or anything game breaking.

Ok. I've had some bugs but none to have it buried in the desert.

Delayed sound while talking to NPC's as in the mouth moves but the sound takes about 5 seconds. Happens a few times. Delayed gun sounds are present but not out of hand. I've had VATS bugs where I can vats the ground but it says NCR. When I crouch and use iron sights, my hands and gun will be on the top of the screen if I stand up too fast.

I've had a few minor bugs with the game, after about 10 hours or so. I had a gecko clip into a rock, a dead radscorpion doing some kind of funky dance on the desert floor, the occasional flickering texture, things like that. IOW, nothing I haven't seen at one time or another in Fallout 3. No flying Deathclaws yet, at least.

The most serious glitch I had was during the fight with the Powder Gangers in Goodsprings, when two them just stood motionless and wouldn't take any damage - I think their scripts didn't fire off. I had to reload a previous save to fix that. I got some slow framerates with lots of NPCs in the area, but I applied the d3d9.dll fix, and the game runs much better now. In fact, it runs so much better that I'm probably going to apply the fix to my heavily modded Fallout 3 installation and see how that works out, when I'm ready to pick up FO3 again.

Your poll would be a lot better if you had an option to the effect of "I'm having minor issues with the game but overall I like it." That's pretty much my opinion on it.

I'm playing this on PS3 since launch. For two days I played in large chunks of time, no freez, no glitch where I need to restart the game. I did noticed an quest related NPC getting stuck in a celling, but going back into that room fixed him. So far just the Death Claws are giving me trouble. I'm loving it!

BTW, this is a re-ordered collectors' edition.

Xbox 360:

I've played the game enough to be up to level 11 or so. No glitches or problems to speak of, and I haven't even hooked up to the internet yet to get the existing patch.

Great game, love it.

Only problem i seen is when the scorpions are in the ground with there stinger sticking out of the ground..Kind a look like Scorpions submarine with there periscope sticking up out of the ground...Funny as hell though when there chasing you all you see is the Stinger...It happens not all the time though...
