I noticed the Zombie thread got closed (because of flaming, spamming, etc.) and since it had moved onto this topic more that do you think zombies could become real I decided to make this one.

So how would you survive?

Seeing as I'm in the Northwest of England I would try and get some weapons (and maybe a few people) and go try surviving in a big shopping centre like the Trafford Centre or maybe a Tesco extra (a really big Tesco) I should be able to survive there for a while and there should be enough supplies in both of those places to barricade the place up. I'd probably use a SMG or a shotgun for weapons, although bows and arrows wouldn't be to hard to find so I would use those as well.

Oh and a note for all English survivors, PeaceBullet said he would get a cruise ship and save us all :celebration:

take Cyanide. Theres no way i could survive a zombie attack. Eventually the zombies will get to us and kill us horribly. Id rather die by my own hand.

It actually depends on the zombies. If they can only shuffle along, and are really slow then i would barricade the house the moment i see one, and grab every makeshift weapon i can find. If they are able to run like in the movie 28 days later, or Left 4 dead, then i would be a bit more worried.

And if they mutate into hunters, witches, tanks from Left 4 Dead, i would say [censored] it wheres the cyanide

Well even if i did have weapons and a hideout I'd probably find myself in a situation similar to the fuhrer bunker in May 1945. Totally surrounded on all sides, enemy closing in. Even after the apocalypse, what world is left? A desolate war torn wasteland? Id rather take cyanide before it starts thank you.

This poll is too general, but the closest thing I'd do is the last one...Though I'm not sure I should say my survival plan...I've literally spent years working on it.

I would go to West Edmonton Mall and gather up as much food as I could, bring it to the Gun Shop in the Mall, and barricade it up. I would bring some other people with me too. And after that I would try to survive as long as I could if they broke the barricade I would go all Rambo.

I would grab what I can from my house then haul ass to the gun store.Then head into the Pinebarrens and look for a lodge and barricade up.During all that I would try to contact family and friends.

Remember, guys, guns should be used as a last resort against zombies. You may kill a dozen, but hundreds will hear it and come towards it. I suggest melee weapons (crowbars, machetes, etc) and a mini-crossbow. Maybe a bow and arrow too. Just make sure that you destroy the brain.

This is why Silencers are always a good option

Nobodys thinking of using a massive jeep to bulldoze to safety? I mean i could to go to the gas station, fill up as many cans as possible, and hijack a nearby SUV or jeep (pray to god there is one, otherwise im screwed).

The apocalypse is going to be more diffcult in the UK suburbs and the city, we havent got any real weapons. Apart from the electric screwdriver and a saw in my garage and various other tools of destruction, i havent got a ranged weapon. And im not going near those zombies either. All the more to use a jeep i guess

Yes, those would be handy.
But I don't recall seeing silencer for a shotgun, which is one of the most common picks for a zombie killing.

But for hunting rifles and other weapons they are great. But not everyone can't find one during blight.

And what Nextmastermind said, firearms should be used as last resort. Actually the best way is to sneak pass them or run away,
since you can't gun down all the zombies.

wheres the option to go left 4 dead on all of them. at first ill find a hiding spot and shore up its defenses but eventually im gonna get bored with no cable and when the internet gives out, thats it, im gonna be really bored. when i get really bored, things go boom.

as for weapon. sledge hammer or axe.........where the hell are you going to find an weapon quality katana and no those cheap knockoff you get from the internet couldnt even slice bread.

for weapons pistol, hunting rifle (7mm calibre), and shotgun. pistol is useful for tight quarters and close up headshots, medium if your a good shot. hunting rifle to reach out and touch them at long ranges. i picked 7mm chamber cause i noticed that during hunting season most of the popular calibres almost disappear which is exactly what is going to happen if a zombie outbreak occures. 7mm is very powerful but niche enough so that there is a good change of it not being taken by looters.

as for the place i would also pick a walmart. an easy solution to keep the zombies out is to simply arrange those cord barriers so that they go in the entrance door but get directed back out the exit door. this also has the advantage of basically setting up a carnival like game similar to shooting ducks in a row. you can sit in one of the many cheap walmart lounge chairs they sell and pass the time by headshotting zombies after the go through the exit door.

I suppose, but some zombies would still hear it. I'd still use a melee weapon or a bow first, though.


Katana's would be best for outdoor combat, as katanas are rather long, so I would advise keeping a machete and a crowbar on hand for close combat. The crowbar is great, it can kill zombies and be used as a tool to open things.


It would be easier and far less painful to just shoot yourself in the head. If you go all L4D on them, you're guaranteed to die.

I would get on a boat and try to fish enough to feed myself. Zombies can't swim so a boat would be ideal.
As for weapons I live in England so I wouldn't have firearms. So My weapon of choice would be a heavy metal cudgel of some sort

Be careful, though! Zombies can walk underwater, so make sure you're in REALLY deep water, and that you're not near land...And that you're boat won't tip over. If you're gonna go with water safety, I suggest an oil rig.

Raise all the cash and portable gold I can. Travel to Haiti. Pay it all for intensive training to become a bokor.

Since when could zombies walk underwater? The current would just push them over. Also I'm not up to date with current oil rig locations so that may prove tricky. In the Mediterranean the water would be less rough and it would be warmer so I would probably sail there.
