This isn't important, but why is there a modern day fishing pole in Skyrim?

You think that's weird, I saw a Khajiit strolling down the road with a .45 glock stuffed in the back of his pants.

This is hysterical. I saw it last night outside of Riverwood. A hunter had it by his fire.

Ever see a Giant pretending to be a troll? I seen one hiding under a bridge from a Dragon.

considering that skyrim don't take place on earth, maybe their fishing knowledge is really high and they invented good fishpoles

That could be so. Or a group of Khajiit could have came to Earth on that UFO that you had spotted and they stole a few to see if they could make a few Septims by selling them in their Caravans..

Ok in every house or inn there are huge fires with floors above them and no chimney to let the smoke and heat out, and yet there has been no buildings burning to the ground.

No holes or anything either.

Face it, the game is filled with mistakes and logical flaws.

Apparently that wasn't the case in Winterhold. The fire won.

I'm currently carrying 680 pounds in mine! It has been 200+ days since I have been able to find my [censored] down there. I'll find it someday, my wife is getting upset. I've just started stashing all my gold in somewhere you don't want to know.

Actually, it was water that destroyed Winterhold. :P

Jump in the water and catch the fish with your hands.

Unless they look like http://fishingcampgears.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/fishing-rods.jpg, it would be hard to discern a "modern" one from a "period" one in game, I think...

The very first rods were really polls with a line, hook, and bait and when you got a fish on you had to pull the fish in to a net or the shore.
