Intense dislike for a game

soccer games. Can't see the point in them existing.

minesweeper. Possibly single handedly responsible for 10% of all lost productive value within the corporate world in the 90s.

That and prince of Persia. I thought the movie was better than any of the games..

Not really no. Yeah, there are games & genres that I don't really like or enjoy, but I've rarely have that strong a reaction to anything. (Well, Pauly Shore, maybe.....)

They're just fun and the concept of Mario is timeless. They're especially great nowadays in a market flooded by one god-awful shooter after another, there are next to no quality platformers.

I like the irony of someone complaining about shooters being milked and defending Mario in the same sentence.

There goes my last 8 months of my life. I've played around 400 matches with my mates. That's equal to around 6,000 minutes or 100 hours. More than Morrowind! :o

League of Legends, I hated it when it was an awful Warcraft 3 map mod full of elitists and I hate it as a standalone game full of elitists. Plus I simply find the TD premise horridly boring.

 ...maybe because football is considered the most popular sport worldwide. By your logic sports games don't make sense existing...

Mount and Blade. I just can't stand it. I'm trying very, very hard to play through Fire with Sword, but the combat is ridiculous, the quests make no sense, and the politics are incredibly complicated for a game.

EDIT: And most (all) sports games.

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age. Do not show me a copy of that game unless you wish to have it bashed repeatedly over your head. If I ever see that [censored] thing in a store, I will destroy it on the spot. That game - No, that abomination of mankind, that useless, worthless piece of [censored] excuse for a video game made me wish I was never a gamer. Worse yet, it's by EA. A game made by EA ripping off Final Fantasy X and meant to cash in on the LotR craze, disguised itself as a competent video game for the first ten hours, then snuck up next to you and molested its numerous faults into your ear.

[censored] that game.

I didn't say milked, I said god-awful. But, since you brought it up, we see a new Mario game once every 1-3 years or so (not including spin-offs). Every year we'll see 10-20 mediocre shooters release, with perhaps one or two that aren't gritty war dramas or zombie apocalypses.

Third Age, is that the horrible Final Fantasy styled, turned based LOTR game for the last gen consoles? That one was quite awful.

You're stating an opinion, which I disagree btw but whatever, I was stating a fact - football/soccer is currently considered the most popular sports worldwide.

Do you ever experience an intense dislike for certain games. I mean a game you want to just vomit when you see its cover or hear its name. I get this way with mass effect,I find it hard to find common ground with anyone else on it though. It seems like the media hale it as some saintly deity, when all I see is a shell of what was once potentially a good game. When mass effect first came out I was excited but it didn't live up to what I had hoped. I envisioned a space rpg where I could play as all the races,go into shops and buy cool equipment and explore alien worlds. What I got was a human in space spandex, fugly fake toy guns and a slack-jaw story that svcks the fun out of what little exploration there was to have. It was like playing gears of war without the entertaining chainsaw kills and the blood turned off. Needless to say nothing was really improved in the sequel with half of the "fun" stuff removed, the inventory was gutted and what weapons and gear existed were sold back to you(Good to see your just as evil as Activision is EA). Blind fire and all the competent RPG mechanics were scraqed and I have no hope for mass effect 3. (story choice and the par/ren stuff didn't matter to me at all since I cared little who lived or died)

I got a bit carried away there but you get my point. Anyone else feel immense disgust over current or past games the way I feel about mass effect. Do you ever feel like you need to find another hobby when said title is set to launch soon, just to avoid hearing about it. Let's talk about it a bit and maybe we wont feel so much bad blood toward it.

Just another case of unrealistic standards I guess, but I don't know what you find wrong with the story. The story and general lore of mass effect is one of the best I've ever encountered in an RPG. I love everything about the series so anything I say is biased really.

I guess a series I don't really like is the Assassin's Creed series. I wish I liked it, but I just can't get into it. Played both 1 and 2 and finished neither.

Bulletstorm.

It was marketed in such a [censored] way.

Duty Calls was awesome though :P

I take games as they are, if it's not for me, then it's not for me. No point in hating. And yes, i've played both DA2 and FFXIII. Several times :D

Oh, but i hate WoW because it prevents Warcraft 4. I'm sure i'd like it if i tried it, but :stare:

I can't think of any game that evokes such an extreme reaction as the OPs to Mass Effect.

I do get slightly irked when people go bananas for Halo. Not because I dislike the games, but because I don't see it as anything more than a decent, if average, FPS.

I don't hate any game as much as that, but of course I don't set my expectations unrealistically high. I knew exactly what I was going to get with Mass Effect before I got it and it's really good.

I do have intense hate for certain fanbases of games, and certain publishers and developers of games, but not for actual games.
