Its that time of year again

Post » Mon Nov 28, 2011 7:45 pm

This avatar is as much Hallowe'en as I get this year, I will be moving house on that date, so busy as hell.

Actually, I will get some of the feeling, the new house backs on to a cemetery.

I don't celebrate Halloween, Christmas, Easter nor any other religious day.
I'm lame, but at least I have principles.

What does Halloween have to do with religion? Scratch that. I'm not falling for this trap.

I guess i should dig up my halloween avatar, eh?

I'll be going to a few Halloween parties this weekend. :)

I usually go to the Lion's Club Halloween party and help with it but I'm thinking about just staying home this year. If I go I'll go as the Dragonborn. ;)

kids in my development don't know about the nonparticipating "lights off on the porch" for trick or teat so I'm saving myself from having a headache from all the door bell ringing an heading over to a friend's house and playing fatal frame 2 and silent hill 1/2.^_^

Add- I also celebrated early by going here on the 22ed.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=282jsLON7gM

Gah. I hate Halloween. Loud bangs going off at random intervals, children ringing my doorbell looking for stuff, bah. [/oldmanrant]

I'm sure Halloweens on a Monday, so I'll be working if I don't take the day off. But I'll be out partying Friday and Saturday to make up for it :celebrate:

Partying.

Same here. And trying to find time to study in between said parties. "Trying" being the operative word in that sentence. :P

I'll be in the house with the lights out, pretending not to be in, while watching horror films and eating all the sweeties I ostensibly bought to feed the trick-or-treaters.

Aww I'm all warm and fuzzy inside!

Halloween is becoming increasingly more popular over here. Not for me though.

Bah. Humbug! ;)

Hmm this year I shall be in my ancient greek course at the university and if that isn't freaky enough, probably go to a friend's house to party afterwards. Need an idea for a costume...

No Halloween in my country. Guess I will be doing whatever average day things I do.

Bugger all. Despite the continuous attempts by retailers to enforce Halloween on Australia it isnt celebrated here.

You guys should write your government. Halloween rocks :D

Some guys I know at work are going to haunted houses.

Gonna see if I'll join the group and try to not look scared. But I've been in a few haunted houses and I haven't ran out of one yet but still someone might get me good.

Oh and people who don't do Halloween in your country - Do it yourself and spread it like a disease, trust me its fun holiday.

I don't celebrate Halloween, Christmas, Easter nor any other religious day.

(I am willing to fall for that so here it is) :

Halloween being an old pagan festivity, it's kind of a 'royalty free' holiday... Xmas and easter too, come to think of it, they've just been recycled by christianity. I personnaly prefer their pagan origin, and that's how I celebrate. Holidays are just excuses to do something out of the ordinary routine, anyways. Playing dress-up and giving gift to friends and family for no reason, I like it.

I do not celebrate Halloween (when I was young it was because my parents felt that it was immoral, now I just see it as stupid).

Halloween is pagan new year. It's linked with the Mexican http://www.dayofthedead.com/. Paganism is similar to the Mexican custom in that death is celebrated and not feared or made into something scary.

I've actually next week off from university so I'll probably go home and dress up to hand out the sweets to the kids. I decorate the path up to the house with more stuff every year, it's ridiculous. No-one I know is having a party this year.
