Juggernaut Build

Post » Fri May 20, 2011 12:45 am

Tried this build out last night, powerleveled to 10, then went around killing some stuff.

I've got to say, this build gets my approval. Near the end I was wading through legion camps with Veronica and ED-E much faster than my sniper char would. The only downside is that you're playing a high-risk playstyle with next to no combat control past being able to leg sweep/power lunge when you're in a bind. But I've got to say, 47 DT at level 10 is silly.

Is there any way to put this in a build compendium?

If so here is basically the sum of this thread,

S 8 (9 with implant)
P 5 (6 with implant)
E 9
C 1
I 6 (7 with IT)
A 6 (7 with implant)
L 5 (6 with implant)

Tag: Melee, Unarmed, Survival

Traits: Built to Destroy

2: Intensive Training - Intellect
4: Educated
6: Toughness
8: Super Slam
10: Nerd Rage
12: Unstoppable Force
14: Piercing Strike
16: Toughness
18: Stonewall
20: Adamantium Skeleton
22: Purifier
24: Slayer
26: Rad Child
28: Rad Absorption
30: Solar Powered or Better Criticals

Companion: Cass
Consumables: Whiskey, Slasher, Med-X
Armor: Remnant's Power Armor/Helmet OR Gannon Family Tesla Armor/Helmet

Pretty satisfied how this turned out but still bugs me with the lack of range capability.

You can easily remedy the lack of range capability by carrying around a Ratslayer, Hunting Rifle or Trail Carbine. Iron sights while crouched is pure money with this build.

I'm going to sig this thread because it's the first successful build thread I've seen where the original idea of the build is intact.

Nice, but heavy handed reduces crit damage by 60% at an increase of 20% base damage. It's very counter-productive to get these two traits, or heavy handed at all, due to your decent luck. The trait is meant for Luck 1 builds.

As far as traits go, you have a lot of freedom for the second one. You can get Four Eyes for one extra point in PE (not recommended as it [censored]s up perk requirements), or Small Frame for AG (*should* count for perk requirements, and +25% increased limb damage is hardly something to worry about, especially if you carry around Hydra or don't play hardcoe), Wild Wasteland so you have an impressive ranged weapon for the few encounters that hurt you too much for being melee/unarmed, Good Natured for more overall skill points if you only level one or two weapon skills and Loose Cannon if you like using thrown weapons with VATS (worthless otherwise).

Bummer, already took it with my recent character whom I've already got a few implants for so not looking to restart on it. Oh well it doesn't seem to be a complete build breaking trait at least.

And.......save is corrupted. Awesome.

Just to update, tested the build out all the way to 30 and while I was going to go get the remnant's power armor I had the space suit/helmet and Oh Baby!. With a few stimpacks and the buffs from med-x and slasher I ran train all over the Deathclaw Promotory.

Highly recommended this build.

6 from Toughness. 28 from Remnants' Power Armor (tesla may have even more). 7 from Remnants' Power Helmet (ditto). 4 from Implant. Having Cass with you and drinking whiskey = 4 DT (plus a like +2 STR and something else at no drawbacks, other than potential addiction).

Nerd Rage perk gives +15 DT when you're below 20% HP, not to mention maxing your ST.

So that's 45 DT. 49 with Cass. 60 with Nerd Rage. 66 with both. There may be other items that increase DT too, but you can stack Slasher and Med-X for a total of 50% DR. I'd be surprised if you died while fighting 30 Deathclaws with all of this stacked.

You, Sir, are Awesome. I'm toolin' around with hardened leather and flogging every Stimpak I see. This game is a WHOLE different animal than F3, and to you goes the the kudos since you have evolved with the Version. (Applause) I go to the metaphorical TAB (an Australian betting agency) and put 50 bucks on you getting through without a death.
