Spoiler
Cicero injured Veezara when he goes berserk, but he doesn't kill him. Veezara dies in the attack by the Penitus Oculatus, which is Astrid's fault.

I know. :) But, IIRC
Spoiler
Cicero's target was supposedly Astrid

Just sayin'

Oh, so you mean Cicero didn't deliberately injure Veezara? I'd go with this too, because I kinda liked him and let him live, and Veezara was my favorite DB member. Wish he'd lived. :(

He attacked Astrid because she insulted the Night Mother. To do so is to invoke the wrath of Sithis. He was in the right. Also Lucien feels that Sithis did not want him to die.

but Lucian was also a traitor to the DB was he not ? how can he be trusted .-.

Lucien was believed to be a traitor by the leadership at Applewatch, but the Night Mother said they were wrong in killing him, because He was the most loyal of the group when we entered her sanctuary in Bravil.

He is a great Follower. Not only does he have interesting and funny stuff to say, unlike 90% of them, he can sneak and he is wickedly awesome with a dagger. Give him the Blade of Woe and let him loose.

So you did not finish Oblivions Dark Brotherhood quest. Here is a spoiler for you, the traitor showed himself in the Night Mother's crypt in Bravil and he wasn't dead.

Ex corde vita, I guess?

Ew! If Cicero ever said that, he's the one person who could pervert it to mean something gruesome and bloody. :P

Troll? Lucien was never a traitor, he was betrayed and declared innocent by the Night Mother herself.

Correct! And technically, Cicero is the most loyal of all the Dark Brotherhood. Anyone who kills him is a traitor and goes against the wishes of the Nightmother.

C'mon guys, did you forgot what happened at the great treachery of Cheydinhall? The Night Mother has always known who the traitor was ever since he joined DB but she never told the listener or any other blackhand member. They weren't competent enough to notice it so why tell them? The same applies here, even though Cicero is loyal to DB, He's not competent enough, not to mention he drive some people crazy with his rambling (Well, I like him and don't find anything that might annoy me, but then again to each his own, people have different tastes after all). So yeah, take it easy you guys. If you hate his rambling then kill him, no penalty. If you think you can bear with it then let him live like the way Sithis prefers it. DB is always a relaxed family. After all, you're all murderer, trader of souls, why so serious?

My main point is that The Night Mother never told me that she and/or Sithis wanted Cicero to stay alive and Cicero acted without instruction from The Night Mother both when attacking the DB and trying to kill me. At the very least Cicero violated the 5th Tenet and possibly the 1st one as well.

Personally, I found him pretty entertaining, but for someone who was supposedly 'old school' DB he didn't follow the 5 Tenets.

Then there's the fact that neither Astrid, who betrayed you, nor you, if you kill him, will face The Wrath of Sithis.

Trust me you don't want to face The Wrath of Sithis, especially the third time.

On my first play through I killed him but this time I plan on keeping him alive as I want more members in the new DB sanctuary. I wish you could keep Arnbjorn alive just because he is a werewolf lol.

I fear if I let him live he will some how obliterate the last remaining froobs of the Dark Brotherhood but Then I fear that if I kill him future installments of The Elder Scrolls will no longer have an assassins quest line for it being cannon that it died out in Skyrim .-.

so what happens if i let him live and what happens if i kill him .-.
Let him live and he's a badass companion. Kill him or attempt and he is hard to kill but you just get the same armor as the Jester's armor in the beginning of the sanctuary. It's just renamed Cicero's [item name]. I killed him !!!SPOILERS!!! unlocked the Dawnstar sanctuary as the new assassins place. I thought, Hey he loves the nightmother so much why not him being with her for all eternity. It was hard by not he is in the coffin with her in a very inappropriate way. I visit him every once and awhile

Well, better late to the party than never. Anyway, after making it through the DB questline to the point of killing the (real) emperor, I am more than pleased that I let Cicero live. I had payed attention to both him and Astrid the whole time, and had already come to the conclusion that Cicero was the only one of them that remained true to the true ways of the Brotherthood...even if he was crazier than a loon. Didn't surprise me one bit that Astrid was the real traitor, and I took perverse pleasure in killing the [censored], so much so, that even after she was dead, I kept hacking away at her lifeless corpse with my axe..
