I read about how you can recruit him as a companion, but in all honesty I don't need companion because at lvl 60, I'm already verging on being way too overpowered. Plus, companion kills don't contribute to your skills or exp in any way. It's the reason why I've given Kharjo a stinkin' pick axe LOL.

while he used to be a skilled assassin specializing in subterfuge, all he is now is a sad lonely man who's fabric of reality has been firmly and permanentally ripped to shreds. If you can stand him pvssyring on, wearing the jesters uniform, and want him later in the game... then let him live. If you, like me, think that not only should he be put out his misery but is incredibly annoying... then kill him.

For RP purposes you should let him live. Neither the night mother nor the dread father wish him dead.

Keep him alive so you can make him your companion and kill him in even more painful and torturous ways...such as using Unrelenting Force on him while standing on the Throat of the World...

I would wait to kill Cicero only after you have killed everyone in the dark brotherhood, killed the companions, killed the thieves, killed the mages and then killed all the other NPCs in Skyrim other than Maiq. At this point Cicero is probably the next best person to remove from your game.

But assuming I allow him to live, will the Nightmother be pleased enough to give me anything special? If not, then it's not worth it.

For a power gaming prospective, he is more useful alive. You can feed him to ebony blade later if you wish.

Everyone in the dark brotherhood can be fed to ebony later, except the vampire girl who is a good vendor.

tried to kill him when i first met him outside that farm. Tried to kill him in the dark brotherhood sanctuary after he arrived. Received mission from Astrid to kill him and sprinted my way towards that objective marker.

Considering that Lucien LaChance's ghost tells you not to kill him, I think its better off to let him live.

Yeah, I changed my mind and let him live. I couldn't resist the temptation of seeing how he is in battle as a companion.

well look at it this way. Without him you would never have become listener and the brotherhood never would have got its former glory and would have died off as just a band of cutthroats had he not kept the nightmother all those years.

You're a member of a secret guild and/or cult of assassins who murder the innocent in exchange for gold and for the glory of Sithis and to please an old women who's been dead for like a thousand years, and you think Cicero's crazy? :D

No, he's the only one who's actually true to the Dark Brotherhood, he did nothing wrong, he's the man.

Very true.
Not to mention, his dialogue is awesome. For example: Keeping the night mother oiled "In all the hard to reach places" and giggling when you trade items with him. Most entertaining follower by far.
