So the Fallout page on Facebook as some of you probably already know, has the ink blot test with Doc Mitchell as a Facebook app. And if you're American (boo, racist), you can win a trip to Vegas to attend the New Vegas launch party and, for some strange reason, you get to attend Kim Kardashian's birthday party.

Why?

Is she a fan of the series or something? Is she a voice actor in the game? Is there a Wild Wasteland encounter involving her?

Seriously, can someone explain to me why attending her birthday party is part of the prize? It makes no sense.

It's probably because no one likes her and the only way she can pretend she has friends is by handing out invites as sub prizes for things.

Or maybe they thought a nerdy guy would be into her.

I'm gonna stick with option no.1.

Probably gonna be a unreasonably large shin-dig and it's something that appeals to someone out there. If I won it(I can't anyway), I probably wouldn't go.

Option #2 seems likely, as hey, she's hot. A bit old for me (only just), but hey.

I'm guessing her party is going on at the same establishment, so if you have a pass to get into the release party you'll have a pass to the birthday party. Just a guess.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's just marketing. It raises sales if some celebrity is involved with the game, even if it is just some random fan of the game who doesn't even know her and is invited to her birthday party based on some contest based on chance.

In the U.S. there are some people that make a hobby (sometimes obsession) out of keeping track of celebrities. This phenomenon has spawned a whole new type of celebrity that is famous just because they're rich, have rich or famous parents, used to be famous performers but are now washed-up, were popular "characters" on some reality show, etc. These people do stupid crap and generally degrade themselves on "reality" TV shows which somehow allows them to stay relevant...barely.

Suffice it to say that if you don't know who 'Snookie' (*shudders*) is you should count your blessings and ask no more about it lest you be involuntarily polluted by it as I have. I'm only half-way kidding when I say it's the beginning of the end of civilization as we know it. :laugh::cryvaultboy:
