Ladies and Gentlemen... to your battle stations!

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 11:42 pm

Ok Elder Scrolls fans, I know you already have them ready and its time to showcase them. Show 'em off! The reason I am making this thread is I just got a brand new La-Z Boy recliner... for free! I know what you're thinking, why is there a thread about furniture on the Elder Scrolls forum? Because I wanna see your awesome battle stations where you will be playing Skyrim, pics of mine to follow shortly. So go ahead and showcase them! Be proud and show them off!

At the moment I'm sat upon a hard wooden dinner table chair :verymad: But at least my mouse and keyboard stretch back to the sofa where I can play on my 42 inch TV

Don't sit in it! Your butt can't repel comfortable yet lethal awesomeness of that magnitude! It's a trap! :blush2:

I have a massive fatboy beanbag that I usually collapse into for my xbox sessions but since I'm getting Skyrim for the PC it'll just be at my computer desk in one of those highback leather chairs. I might get an additional monitor to create a 3-monitor rig if skyrim supports multiple monitors tho'.

http://localhostr.com/file/zX32zSa/battlestation1.jpg a proud member of the laptop gaming master race stands before you. tremble.

in detail:
- another laptop i don't remember anything about other than it's a Compaq and it's got an 8200M.
- a bottle of water!
- a pair of http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-V700DJ-DJ-Style-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00001W0DH!
- a hard drive enclosure!
- a korg nanokey! (which i would not recommend to anybody it's a flimsy piece of [censored])

there's also http://localhostr.com/file/L5js7op/battlestation2.jpg, which i don't use for much more than RDR since i haven't gotten around to getting anything else for it. this is mostly notable for the sheer number of cables and dumb [censored] i've got running between it and my laptop.

i get video with a 360 VGA cable plugged into my old monitor, and audio with the RCA outs plugged into an RCA-to-3.5mm adapter, which is in turn plugged into a 3.5mm-to-1/4" adapter, which is plugged into the back of a http://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-US44010-Interface-GT-Player-Software/dp/B00061ZM2Y, which is plugged into my laptop. i plug my headphones into the front of the interface and then it's golden.

My computer setup for Skyrim, just need a mini fridge and microwave now. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/8/computerod.jpg/

Ok, not really (in fact I dont even remember where that picture came from). Just going to use my 24" widescreen and hoping I wont have to upgrade my computer to get decent graphics.

Ah might as well throw this in there too (former battlestation minus case and GPUs)

What's the router/switch?

Old pictures, but they'll do. I finally got around to doing some cable management. It's OK, but I really don't like my TV being up on a desk, especially for console gaming. When I get a new monitor I'll be able to get an actual TV stand.

What's the router/switch?

You cant see my switches in those pics. There are two blade servers visable. (One next to the silver desktop and one underneath the printer under the desk)

They are two extrememly old blade servers, one with 4 160GB (10,000RPM) HDDs, 2GB RAM, and 2 Pentium III CPUs at 1.2Ghz.
The other one (underneath the printer) is a Pentium 4 1.8Ghz, 2GB RAM, 2x80GB HDDs.

My network, consists of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833156251 connected to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124386, which then wirelessly connects to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124388 for the actual routing part.

I have a whole room for a battlestation:

A old-ass "big screen" TV from 2001
My old office chair, complete with holes
A custom couch my dad made with two seats from a Geo Metro
A comfy folding black chair

i was hoping for some sci fi thing, Star Treck, preferably.

i won't have one. my battle station is just my chair by the table with comp on the table, nothing special, regular kind of furniture and stuff.

Vynil retro style chair, fancy veneered particleBoard tv stand with mount, a 32 inch tv, an ASUS essentio CG1330-07 customized with an nvidia GeForce GTX 260 graphics card, a 3 speaker sound system with subwoofer, an Xbox 360 that is gathering dust, and a MIDI keyboard for when I get creative!
