I could be mistaken, but do you mean "skid marks"?

Thats what I meant.

Laptops are a particular pain when they start going bad, I've had a lot of experience with the downhill slope of a laptop in the end no matter what you do or who you pay once the death knell has sound there is no stopping it, reformatting mine saved it for a while but it's pretty much a shiny black anchor at this point. Also know that I approve of your title because it features the word poop.

When I first read the title all I saw was pooping the bed.

I thought I saw a new random EF thread. :P

What brand laptop?

Sony VAIO.

The scans last night never even finished...but I'm running in normal mode now and it seems back to normal, maybe a bit slower.

Jeez guys, try the Urban Dictionary:

2. verb. To become mechanically inoperable beyond the point of repair.

Its not that unusual of an expression and is quite old (my Dad used it a lot when working on cars - only he used a more colorful four letter word instead of "poop").

Kinda ironic that a bunch of computer people didn't use the internet to find out what it meant lol

I'd do a ctrl+shift+esc to check where the cpu is being eaten up.
take in mind I am not very good but I am sure checking that might help you at least get more simptom info to troubleshoot your problem.

Dude, you blew my mind by saying that. I had no idea you could do ctrl+shift+esc... I feel stupid...
