Let's Kill Hitler premiere

Patrick Troughton was before my time; I remember watching a few re-runs on satellite telly back in the '90s and they always seemed a bit bizarre and psychotic for my tastes... :o

The Cyberman episode was pretty cool

I love the new episode's under Steven Moffat I prefer his writing to Davies any day but that episode wasn't as good as some of them, The one with the pirates was definately the worst this series but Let's kill hitler was definately not as good as Day of the moon or some of the other episodes.

I came into Doctot Who at Christopher Eccleston I thought David Tennant was an improvement but then he got boring so I was glad when Matt Smith took over, I've looked back on a few of the old doctors and I'd definately say that William Hartnell was the most alien, the Doctor has become less Alien as the series went on, then became more so for eight and nine. That does seam weird though considering to begin with at least the doctor wasn't meant to seam alien just eccentric.

I found Hartnell to be less alien, just more of an [censored].

He isn't ever trying to help anyone, he's just out for himself.

He warms to humanity after a while. You have to consider that from a timelord perspective, he was young and impulsive. Contrast his attempt to kill a wounded caveman who would slow them down with his later desire to protect life.

It was good. Not as good as other episodes from Matt Smith's era, but still good.

Spoiler
I had forgotten River's status as half-timelady at the beginning of the episode so when Mels was revealed to be River I thought to myself "That has to be the worst casting decision I've ever seen."

Its definately worth watching Troughton at the moment, particularly tomb of the cyberman, which is matt smith's favourite episode.

There's a lot of 2 in 11... I have to wonder though if the thing with 11 and Hats is a reference to one of the attempted catchphrases of 2 (I should like a hat like that).

As for this episode - fantasitc!
Spoiler

I was wondering how they were going to solve the dying doctor thing, but they ended it the only way they really could when you think back

I liked it a bit, but the next looks fantastic.

My first was Chistopher Eccleston but my favourite Doctor is Peter Davison, the 5th.

Recently started watching Doctor Who (2005, obviously) and I am in love. I used to loathe the show and think it was so... dumb, but now...
Just started season 5 with Matt Smith and he's pretty good, still; I'm a little wary if he'll live up to David Tennant or not.

Ha, I thought he was better than Tennant as soon as I saw the BBC interview when they announced him.

the thing with Tennant and Eccleston is that they are not very typical of the character of most of the Doctors, whilst Smith is.

So, the last episode in the series was today, and we found out that:
Spoiler

the Doctor avoids dying by hiding inside the Teselecta android while River shoots him in Utah. I'd guessed that he'd use a Ganger for that purpose, so I wasn't that far off.

Time resets in the rather irritating manner that we've grown acustomed to (three [censored] years in a row) with the added bonus of everyone thinking the Doctor really had died, likely an executive decision to stop every freaking person in the universe knowing who he is, as if he's like Superman.

We also discover that the question the Silence do not want to be answered is "Doctor Who?"

On another plus, they actually finally managed to do a whole season without a Dalek story!
