level 81 quest possibilities

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 5:33 am

I was told about the level 81 quest earlier and so i went and did it a few minutes ago, it was extremely easy i have to admit. i just summoned the zombie dragon from dawnguard and it killed the guy....and his gear is nothing close to unique, something tells me there has to be so much more to this quest no one rewards there highest level players with a set of common ebony armor with common enchantments...that guys fake post earlier made me think theres probably something more were supposed to do with the items he drops or maybe its a bug and he was supposed to drop some key, or maybe we were just jipped but i mean it was a fun fight so its whatever. what do y'all think about it? jipp or is there more to it do you think? I imagine if theres more to it its going to be complicated because i mean c'mon level 81 isnt a very easy thing to do...well unless youre like me and you used the oghma infinium.

i imagine it was to give people to game to level 81 a good challange, doubt they would lock anyone out of anything more than uber enemies (legendary dragons come to mind)

What diffieculty do you play on? He's not hard on 81 if you dont play on master. I summoned Durnehviir against him on a character as a test. He whoops Durnehviir's ass.

I just killed the ebony warrior if that is what you mean. He talked to me in Whiterun, and told me to meet him at Vale's End or something like that and then told me to prepare myself and come when I was ready. He killed me 4 times before I got him.

Durnevhiir never landed he just kept summoning the draugr and breathing fire i was using magic far away from him and sprinted away when he came at me but he was mostly busy dealing with my followers so we just chipped at him at long range and if youre on master i can see how hed beat durnevhir but he never got close when i was playing and i play on the medium difficulty past that just makes it a chore to do anything. It was still a cool fight though just not max level reward material i guess i thought it would be more of a reward instead of a challenge oh well cool nonetheless

Can't wait to whip this guy's butt. The only issue I have with the quest is the level requirement. Most of my characters never get past level 50.

I'm sure that there will be a mod that lowers the requirement though.

I for one hope they keep the addition of these sorts of things to an absolute minimum.

Play on Master and don't use gear you used OP potions / enchants on to hit 500 damage. Then tell us how easy it is.

If I use my Fork of Doom, every battle would be easy :D It's all relative.

The Ebony Warrior appears at level 80, not 81.

You could wait to the end of your character's life, meaning when you're about to delete it and make a new one, then OI just to see what the Ebony warrior is like.

Nah, it goes against my playstyle.
I really dont feel like switching armour and weapon styles just for those last few levels.
I just dont like two-handed weapons and on this playthrough Im using heavy armour. Ive never used block once since release.

You dont have to, just dont use the perks. Or you could just look the fight up on youtube or something.

I wish one showed up for me, then I could have made it fight him with bend will. I think he'd kill it, but it'd be one hell of a distraction.

My highest level characters stopped levelling around 70 or so.

Yeah, it kind of svcks that they have these requirements. I'll never get to fight a legendary dragon or the ebony mudcrab. I play on PC, so mods could fix that problem real fast. Then again, my console brethren can't. Which still svcks.

svck is the word of the month here at Bethesda forums. To all new members, here's a fishy stick http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg and a commemorative posh Mudcrab for all of those classy folk out there http://oi40.tinypic.com/nfsbk2.jpg.

Did I forget to mention, that I started with going to Riverwood and killing the 2 cultisis, going to Whiterun and talking to the Ebony Warrior, and had not even been to Sollstheim yet. So I could not use any of the new shouts, etc on him, or on the dragon. But I loved the things he said while fighting him. Especially, the ones like, after you hit him 3 or 4 times he says, come on, hit me with all you got and there was you can do better than that. Boy did he ever taunt me.

Indeed. He was a worthy foe. Our fight went from the vigil to the bottom of the mountain. Both of us continuously getting thu'umed off our feet, or in my case, thu'umed and paralyzed.

Nah, that goes against my playstyle.
Its all about the journey for me, and once Im at the destination I tend to get bored.
So I dont want to level really fast, to me that would be the antithesis of fun.
If I played on PC Id mod the game to make levelling a lot slower, probably as easy as cutting xp you get for performing actions in half.
I think I level too fast in Skyrim as is, I have the same problem with New Vegas and Fallout 3.
