Level 82?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 7:08 am

Ok so i had the random thought, that maybe after you hit level 81 ( which eff tryin to get that legitimately) why not get a huge bounty and serve the time in jail and after your skills drop work them back up then maybe you might be able to level up past 81.... eventually.

Your skill level progression. If your stats are maxed out it won't do anything.

Being jailed will only reduce your current progress in leveling up a given skill, with longer jail sentences served affecting more skills.

Hmmm. I doubt I'll ever get there, but that's a really random place to stop.

There's no designed challenge going that high, so it's a bit to say "Ok you've gone far enough, there's nothing more to see by there."

You start off at level 1 and finish at 81. That makes for an even 80 level-ups possible.

And I got my first character nearly there, just one skill short. Thing is, though, is that getting things leveled up after 50 turns into a bit of a grind, even with using trainers. Especially when I found that training was only allowed for levels up to 90.

The soft cap is 50 anyway so anything beyond that is still 50 but with a few extra skills and perks thrown in. They should just leave it at 50 and just add the extra perc points as you level up after that.

I think it svcks really. I'm at level 54 and had to make a list of what perks I definately want to have before I hit 81. had I known that earlier I would have been more selective with my perks.

Honestly, I am surprised there is a cap. There is a lot more to do in Skyrim then there was in Oblivion. Hell, I'm almost level 50 and not even half way through the game :o.

Not really, you start at level 1, and you can go up 80 levels.

No matter what level you are at, there is still a game to play.

Way to not understand what you're reading...

You did notice the phrase "soft cap" right? Since the soft cap is 50 and not 1 I think you should be able to figure it out now.

You raise skills to level up, then all reach 100 you can not raise them and not level up more.
81 is just the level where this happens, had we had more skills or it was easier to level up we would reach an higher level.

What is this "soft level cap" business? My character's lv 58 and leveling normally. Obviously, each level up takes a little longer, but, still goin'.

Enemies stop scaling past this point for the most part. That is essentially Bethesda's way of saying "ok you're done now".

to be precise, after getting all 18 skills to 100, you are level 81.5 (half way progressed to 82) but thats where it stops.

for someone who has slight obsessive behaviour around numbers, 81 is a strange place for me to stop, but when i look at the fact it will give me 80 perks and 800 points to place into health, magicka and stamina, that eases my ocd somewhat.

Yup. Let us presume you're a one handed sword warrior with 100 in One Handed and all perks at level 50. Wearing exactly the same armour and using exactly the same weapon you will do exactly the same damage with a one handed sword to the same enemy you encountered at level 81 than you did at level 50 because the mobs don't get tougher than level 50.

Well you also still get the 10 points per level to add for your base stats.

You will not be able to level up past 81 unless its a rare freak occurrence like the thing mentioned above.
