List of Issues

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:48 pm

* I'm going to continue to edit this post with any new bugs I encounter *

- Game froze when entering Goodsprings. Had Boone & ED-E as companions. Had the 9mm SMG equipped.

- Game froze when entering the Legion Raid Camp. Had Boone as a companion. Had the 9mm SMG equipped.

- My characters hands & arms will raise to the top of the screen / or simply disappear. (Happens quite often).

- Not exactly a bug, but I've encountered a lot of oddly placed invisible walls in spots I should be able to pass through. For example, at the Coyote Mines location, there's an invisible barrier around the Coyote Mine House for no apparent reason. And the barrier extends beyond that as well. Not a bug I suppose, but more of a gripe. Barriers like this seriously need to be removed. There are other areas that are like this too that I think really need to be looked at.

- In Coyote Mine, there was a prospector inside running into walls and not really going anywhere / there were two fires inside the main room that gave off no light (useless gripe).

- On a couple occasions enemies will just stand there looking at me when they should be attacking.

- Fire geckos shooting invisible fire. I've seen flames maybe a couple of times.

- Radscorpions and other things partially under the ground.

- Objects falling through the ground when picking up items around that specific one.

- A number of objects that you SHOULD be able to pick up, but can't. For example, in the Dino-Bite Gift shop, there are 5 fission batteries behind the counter that you simply cannot pick up or do anything with. Another example, outside of the REPCONN test site in an area with sandbags, a bed, etc., are three Energy Cells next to a toolbox on a shelf that you cannot pick up. I've come across a lot of other objects like this as well.

- In hardcoe mode, my Sleep meter simply read nothing and never went up. Only did I sleep did it reset back to 0 and start moving up again.

- I was unable to shoot my Cowboy Repeater for about 5 seconds as soon as Boone died and I failed his quest. Luckily I was on top of a rock to where the deathclaw couldn't reach me.

- Tumbleweeds appear to be frozen in Goodsprings (and in Novac as well). When you jump on top of them it makes a metal sound. If I remember correctly at the start of the game they were rolling along just fine.

- Sometimes when I'm selling / or buying from a merchant, whenever I complete a transaction, sometimes the menu freezes for a few seconds and makes the clicking sound as if I scrolling through the merchant's inventory.

- My player character (male) sounds like a female when getting attacked randomly. Not all the time, but enough to notice.

- Not a bug (more of a gripe I suppose), when walking in any direction, mountains in the distance look like they have some zig-zagging clipping / ugly textures issues. Huge rock formations not showing up on the side of mountains until you're pretty close. Again, it's not game-breaking, just a gripe of mine.

*Edit: Despite all these bugs, I am enjoying the game a lot. I've experienced nothing but great loading times and the framerate for me has been really good. That being said, I haven't been to or outside of New Vegas yet, so I can't speak for the loading times / framerates for that area.

this annoys the [censored] out of me, it happens constantly. Its almost like they added it as some stupid feature that was badly implemented.

The bugs I've seen are as follows:

I also have the my character's arms raise up or disappear.

The weathered 10mm pistol cannot be modded successfully. I can attach mods, but when I pull out the gun, it becomes invisible, and a white film covers the screen. When I look at this in third person, there is a red diamond with a white exclamation point running horizontally through my character.

Enemies sometimes fall through the floor or rocks.

Enemies get stuck in rocks. They are halfway inside of the rock.

The game randomly crashes.

I was out in the wasteland and was chased by a gecko. I outran it and left it far behind. About 15 minutes later I was inside a building at primm, and i suddenly cut to a slo mo death scene of the gecko that was chasing me.

Invisible barriers are an issue for me as well.

Geckos shooting invisible fire is an issue for me as well.

This is all I've noticed so far. I really hope that Obsidian/Bethesda fixes these bugs for the xbox 360 soon, because I absolutely love this game and the bugs are seriously annoying. I can honestly say that, even with these bugs, this game ranks in the top 3 I've ever played. This game is a masterpiece (flaws and all)!!!

Thank god I have a newborn in the house and find very little time to play, I would be pulling out my hair with all the bugs being listed. I too am getting the arms above your head. Also the rifle you get from Sunny was still making shot sounds when I wasn't firing it, I was in the school in Goodsprings shooting at Preying Mantis.

I completley agree and several of these glitches have happened to me once I tried jumping over a rock and got stuck inside of it and could not fast travel because it counted as being in the air and again I jumped over a rock and my gun disappeared and i could not get it back well as a matter of fact rocks are kinda this games worst enemy enemies get stuck in them npc run face first into them for no reason and they cause game ending glitches at times oh and they also look ugly from a distance. oh and one last complaint. WHY DOES IT GET SO LAGGY THAT I CAN'T EVEN BRING UP THE PIP BOY FOR AT LEAST 10 SECONDS AT TIMES.

this is still a good game but I mean come on I found over 5 glitches during the fist 30 min of gameplay what is that and who on earth tested this game and how could they not notice these things that are really common! well I just feel a bit dissappointed that after the wait for this game and the money I paid that all it is is an expansion of fallout 3 with no solutions to old problems and they still made the end of the game an actual end where you can no longer play as that character even though that was an issue in FO3. next time make us wait a few more months and make the game a bit more quality before release.... if there is a next time.

During the "I put a spell on you" quest the train will explode even after successfully disarming and removing the bomb.

After talking with Hsu I had a note saying he would pay me to kill a target in Vault 3. After doing just that he did acknowledge my saving the ranger, but there was no dialog about the target I was supposed to kill. I'm 100% sure I killed him too.

I'm with a lot of you. Especially with the invisible barriers. Did NONE of the testers comment on this? I've stopped playing the game because of this and because apparently Geckos don't count as animals. I chose the animal friend perk to avoid many of the waste creatures and now I don't know if it works on anything worse than mole rats.

Ive had all these glitches happen to me once I got home from the midnight release and started playing. Im taking it back today, and using the store credit to get medal of honor. Screw this man, we pay for quality, and we get crap. I dont care if theyre "working on a patch". They are professional videogame company, so its expected (from my point of view) they put out a professionally developed game.

- I have the arm raising glitch quite a bit. I also have lots of radscorpions stuck in the ground.
- I haven't seen anyone mention this yet... I am playing as a male character, but every now and then during combat, sometimes my character will scream in a clearly female voice. This is a small gripe, but it definitely takes me out of character and is something id like fixed. Anyone else have this happen?

I have experienced essentially all of the above as well. I have put the game aside for now until a patch can be released that addresses the save game issue since it seems to have affected all of mine. I would also like to mention the following:

When using the Cowboy Repeater rifle, I cannot fire, aim down the sights or loot bodies for several seconds after reloading the weapon. The duration of this lasts between say 1-10 seconds or so.

While wearing the NCR ranger armor I was selling stuff at the dino gift shop in novak when I accidentally sold the armor I was wearing. A message popped up saying I was no longer disguised as NCR with a confirmation prompt. Pressing A however would not close the message and would indeed continue to sell/buy from the merchant. I could not leave the store menu either as the only buttons that were working were the A button and the START button. I had to load the autosave to solve the problem.

I've occasionally noticed my shots not doing any dmg to enemies using various weapons.

This all said I was really enjoying the game until the save game issue popped up. I must say I am rather annoyed that such an issue was allowed to "slip by" but I know unfortunately these things happen. I look forward to a hopefully quick release of a patch to correct these and any other issues we may encounter.

In a massive open world like this you have to remember, so much can go wrong without the developers catching it the first time, it happens. They are actively trying to fix a lot of these problems. I wouldn't trade it in just yet.

Even if it is a massive open world theyve had time to test it. And these arent things that happen later on in the game rarely. This is at the start of the game, happening multiple times. Just read all the previous posts. The developers knew what was going on, but they pushed it out anyways. What would you do if you were in charge of this product, knowing how it played? And this is a question for everyone. I guess not fully testing out your project, making sure the kinks were worked out is a standard work procedure for companies now. And like good little consumers that we are, we should smile and take it. I mean who are we? We only spend our hard earned money on theyre product. We should except mediocre results from a company we spend said money on right?(keep in mind i know its only a game, but damn am i angry)

Quests/side quests where the AI will acknowledge my completion of it but then be stuck in the "Did you finish yet?" dialog, or being hostile but at the same time friendly.

The courier bodies not spawning or my personal favorite, disappearing when approaching but when backing away reappears.

Hands randomly flying upwards or downwards, left, right as if suddenly the PC decided to play a nice rousing game of the hokey pokey.

Issues with the Fiends in vault (2 I think) They're shown as being hostile yet will not fire at me, and refuse to acknowledge I'm in the Khan outfit

Had a Friendly reputation with the NCR until I put on a NCR uniform and removed it knocking my reputation back to "neutral" (For added clarity I was already friendly before donning the armor)

Male PC during combat has the female voice over.

Game randomly freezing

I definitely agree for the most part. It's a pain paying for a product that has a lot of broken elements to it. But as long as Obsidian or gamesas or whoever fixes the issues and continues to support this game, I'll continue to not have a problem. I've enjoyed the game a lot so far because luckily for me, the only major bugs I've had we're the two crashes, that's it. I've had no saved game issues or bad framerate or other things like that. If I did, that might be another story.

Regardless, people on here need to chill the hell out. Post whatever bugs or issues you are having and leave it at that. It'll be that much quicker for them to fix things without all the whining.

Thanks for the reminder as the same thing happened to me. As I was getting attacked my player character was making female grunt noises. Adding to the list.

I have an obvious visual glitch with Leather Armor & Reinforced Leather Armor (so far) so I might as well detail it.

Equipped guns such as the Caravan Shotgun and Cowboy Repeater are displayed on the player's back with the rifle butt up on the right, crossing down to the left hip. This causes the gun model to clip through the armor's shoulder pads.
When the NCR Patrol Armor is put on, the gun switches position with the rifle butt down by the hip slanting up to the left shoulder.
If you then switch to either Leather Armor it stays displayed correctly until you save and reload the game, after which it's displayed incorrectly again.

Upon returning to Lucky 38 with Boone I saw Victor out front so I talked to him. He pretty much went into the dialog from before the first meet with Mr. House. As a result Boone was forced to stay outside even though I own the Presidential Suite.

one of the unique glitches i've found that other people don't seem to be reporting...after retrieving the missing laser pistol in the hidden valley, the brotherhood shop keep still begins every conversation with "have you found it yet?" which leads to a single dialogue choice of a negative answer

I am experiencing the same type of issues as listed about, some different, but alot of the same.... I have a maybe 2 month old xbox 360 slim, nothing on the hard drive just saved games.... it performs wonders for any other game i play except this one.... My fall out 3 doesnt glitch, lag, or have any problems like this game does....

here is a list of what my issues are....

Extreme lagging... walking the mojave, around towns, either just character or with companion...about every 2-5 minutes it start to stutter....

Long load times... on the roullette wheel screen, i sit and wait anything from 1-10 minutes.... going in and out of houses, buildings, containers, etc... long waits....

Resricted movement! there are places anyone could easily go, yet character wont go anything close to it, like you said invisible walls....

Companion / creatures getting stuck in the ground, rocks, mountains, etc... anything that is in screen shot... and happens about 70% of the game....

Freezing!!!!! MAJOR ISSUE.... going into certain buildings in freeside, and throughout the mojave, i have experienced freezing just as im about to enter a room highlighted in red writting.... or even the standard color writting....

Pip boy jams ups.... some items cant be found or sold at a vendor, yet appear when just browsing the pip...

im close to about 18-20 hours of game play since oct. 19th at about noon pacific time... Im level 15, and have a handsome amount of modded guns.... Im not sure if those have anything to do with it....

BUT BETHESDA, SERIOUSLY FIGURE YOUR SH*T OUT.... YOU SHOULD NOT RELEASE A GAME IF THERE ARE GOING TO BE THIS MANY ISSUES.... DONT RUSH SOMETHING AND SEND IT OUT PREMATURE.... stop thinking about the profits, and start going for the performance.... you have screwed up on every game you have released all due to neglecting the performance and to careless around flaws.... People love the games, so make them happy... its better for business when your not f*cking everything up.....

By the way really good game.... and will be the best i have played (providing bethesda takes there head out their ass' and fix the problems)
