Loot System

If all the loot was super great, then none of the loot would be special.

Okay so I see you choose to be hostile in this conversation, fine.
Yes I know there is no ''raids'', but if you check the deffenition of the word..you'll notice some cool things of the meaning of it.
Let's say I know nothing about TES games and that Skyrim was my first TES game I've ever played. Now I invest heck of alot time and perks with the enchanting tree, and just as a casual player I make myself a semi-god. My fault for not knowing that it is that overpowering perk tree ?

It is also a choice whetever you want to buy or find by a random chance something. After all, money is quite useless at the moment in Skyrim.

EDIT: Never played Wow. And never will be.

LOL! If you consider his response hostile, you must have lead a very sheltered life. You're in for a world of hurt when you move out.

If you don't want your ideas to be subject to scrutiny and rebuttal, you'd do yourself and your ego a favour by refraining from posting.

Opening master level lock just to get a wolf pelt and 6 bucks ain't cool...not after all the journey in da damn dark cave.

I get that maybe at level 10 but not no level 40 or 50. Besides as a whole, if the loot system was any better I'd be a billionare dragonborn....lol

Yup. WoW is NOT an RPG, despite its claims and setting. The idea was cool, but, people being what they are, WoW is no more than an MU mindless "strategy" (using the term VERY loosely) where the "point" is to increase everything as fast as possible to survive because, well, that's what everyone else is doing.
Pretty rare to get better stuff in wow to unless you either just jumped to an new expansion pack area as going from standard to outland, or at endgame then a new pach is released.
Outside of this you go days without seeing anything usefull.

The problem is that nothing you find will ever have even a snowball's chance in hell of being anywhere near as good as something you can craft and enchant yourself. Not even supposed artifacts, many hundreds of years old that are told of in legends can compare to what our character can make.
Then you reach level 50 the leveled lists stop, however to make better enchants you need 100 in enchanting and the double enchant perk.
You can make much better potions than default.

You don't need good stuff to play this game... it's not a loot hunt. You don't need to level to accomplish anything... it's not a grind. You don't need anything but the will to play. If you need these external stimuli to make play fun, you should really find a better toy... or go watch a movie. This game is simply rewarding to play. No one really cares what's in a chest.

Itemization is at fault as much as crafting is at fault. Items have static base values. This means once you craft or find a Daedric Sword, that is the best and only value of Daedric Swords you will find. The differntiating factor comes down to the Enchants. Really and truly, you only need one Enchant and that Enchant is the one that Fortifies your Primary damage type - anything else is more or less worthless. So, the only hope you have is finding a Hood with Fortify Archery 25%, as opposed to one with 24%. If you take up Enchanting however and Perk it, it so DWARFS found loot so much so it isn't even funny. It makes all loot absolutely worthless. Crafting, provides an easier and quicker method of obtaining items. You do not even need to do any combat in order to obtain gear reserved for lvl 50 + loot tables. Now, Smithing, however's primary function is the IMPROVEMENT of gear. This makes your gear scale. Without Smithing, gear does not scale. Raising your Smithing is the only way to improve items and increase their values. That is kind of weird and backwards.

So in essence, taking up crafting makes found items worthless.

Also, gold has little if any importance, so it isn't even a matter of "loot for profit". You can get spells from any vendor, recipes etc. They make everything so easy to get, and no superior alternatives through exploration and adventuring. Further since itemization is static, that creates an even bigger issue.
