What? It depends on how you play the Civil War missions - if you play them at all.

I suppose something big will happen to Skyrim to nullify the effects.

I can't wait to see what the canon ending of Skyrim becomes. (Would they be able to pull off another Warp in the West?)

They will work together to thwart a common enemy! Emperor Claximus, the maniacal and cruel ruler of the the sea! He's also a Mud Crab, did I mention? This is after the Mud Crabs overun the Summerset Isles.

Gram, I mean in the next TES game, it may have some reference towards the civil war. I'm saying who won it in Bethesda's book?

Well, it'll likely be another six years before it's established, I guess.

...Not really a common thing for Beth to canonize something this soon after releasing a game. In fact, I'm sure some scenario where neither side wins will be thought up when the time comes. Kinda the norm.

I really doubt they've established that yet. I mean, they'll likely wait until they're making firm progress on writing the story of the next game to decide for sure what the outcome of the war will be.

Hopefully, the course of the war will be "The Empire and the Stormcloaks discovered what the Thalmor were up to, established a truce and alliance and the entire Empire invaded the Summerset Isle, crushed the Thalmore, and re-established order. Then crushed the Thalmor some more, just for good measure."

I'm hoping for a Dragon Break caused by

killing Alduin,
resulting in another Miracle of Peace. Better than wiping out Skyrim. Heck, choosing one side or the other would be better than wiping out Skyrim.

I really think Bethesda left Elisif as Jarl of Solitude for a reason.

Likely the Imperials, for continuity's sake. Which kinda svcks, because I'm all for the Stormcloaks' cause, even if I'm not exactly a fan of their xenophobia.

Well unless a dragonbreak happens....

Spoiler
In the main quest you make a treaty between both sides, so since I'm taking everything that happened in the main quest as "canon" the Treaty happened and then something else happened that stopped the fighting completely

Why even dedicate hundreds of hours to programming different scenarios and characters, if you're just going to write a small lore book in the next game that sets a "canon". How about writing the book first, and not waste anyone's time.

Mass Effect, Dragon Age.

Anyhow, I hope they either do something like DA or ME or just out and out SAY who won (I think an independent Skyrim would make a better series) rather than doing a mind[censored] scenario like the Warp in the West

I think the most canon ending is the truce imposed by the Dragonborn ...

Anyways, the situation will have changed in the next game. Thalmor may invade, or Skyrim might be swallowed by a new stronger Empire of Man, createed by the countries that are not afraid of the Thalmor.

I'm betting the imperials will be the canon winner of the war.

i believe the stormcloaks might win, since the empire's basically screwed. but thats just me
then the thalmor takes over the stormcloak and skyrim. Elves win, until Ysmir comes maybe

It's the most canon ending if you want to be some Gandhi-like hero.

I'd like to kill more people in the process.

Much like how the lore states Talos/Hjalti did (and even then, it's not clear exactly what he did in some cases).

I'd assume they would establish a conclusion that doesn't refer to which side won the war.

It was even worse because there were a bajillion outcomes to Daggerfall that were relatively unrelated.

I'd prefer that, but I'm not sure where Bethesda is going to take it.

I don't have the PC version. Is there a way to tell if there's a "flag" system in place for choices made in Skyrim? That would be the easiest way to tell if they plan on making branching storylines, depending on each player's save data.
