You playing on a console far away from the computer?
Cause you could place the songs on a MP3 or even a USB stick and just plug it in and listen to them there.

Not really.
While I agree that those are cool, they don't do it for me.
I'd like to stay in the NV persona and just have a larger list of songs come through the same radio.
I like listening to Mr. New Vegas for the ambiance but I just can't deal with the same handful of songs over and over, and over. It got old real quick.
Would I pay for more songs? If it was cheap enough, sure. If the price is too high I can always do what I'm doing now, leave the radio turned off.

I'd love the ability to set certain songs to never, ever, play again.

* What I would GLADLY pay for is the ability to load MP3's from my memory stick into the rotation. Now THAT would be worth the price of admission.

GNR musik does NOT fit in New Vegas, is it just me or is Galaxy News Radio jazz and jazz only?

I loved GNR though, apart from the instrumentals in F:NV and two other songs, I'd rather listen to Three Dog 'AWOOO's over Mr. New Vegas hitting on me.

I would rather have a new radio channel with more music like Roundhouse Rock and Big Iron.

That would be Black Mountain Radio/Mojave Radio

Give me Elvis :foodndrink:

Pay for the licensing fees for their inclusion in game then we'll talk.

Here is the problem, there aren't enough songs, you hear the same songs over and over...just another New Vegas Fail.

I think there was a similar amount of songs in Fallout 3, but Fallout 3 put most of them on one radio channel so you get less repetition. Vanilla New Vegas has too little songs per radio channel.

Sinatra's works are still under copyright protection, so they'd have to pay royalties. However "a gift...(actually called A kiss to build a dream on) by Louis Armstrong(and all his works, along with the other works of classic big-band artists) are all in public domain, much like the music that was in GNR, and the music in the mods that are part of A Secret Stash, and More where that came from by OldManMose76 are also public domain.

The real problem is, even when things are public domain. If you're putting them in something that's for-profit you still may need to get permission to do it. However doing it for non-profit, public exhibition, or for private individual use-packaged, is perfectly fine.

So the people complaining about the lack of music?
Step 1: Complain about convoluted copyright laws, and the amazing 150yr copyrights on crap
Step 2: If you're playing on a console, you may want to consider step 3. Because neither MS nor Sony will ever allow modded content on their consoles.
Step 3: Play on a PC, and enjoy customized, modded content.

Anybody on a PC, get this if you haven't already, it works beautifully: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36835
It'll let you add up to 32,000 songs, and will convert them into the right formats for the ingame radios, and even throws in a few fixes for the bugged ones.

I'd rather have a DLC that adds a couple of cacti really.
I mean, I wouldn't buy this DLC but if they're going to put work on something then I'd rather have something new rather than a copy paste thing from FO3. (Yes I do see the irony in this statement)

If you're on a PC, here's your cacti: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38113

You know what "futility" is? It's very similar to thinking people are going to read anything in a gaming forum.

So, as I said before, all we need is an update (or DLC) that allows console users to mix in MP3 music from a memory stick or hard drive.
No problem with re-selling copyrighted material. It's MY problem to only load songs that I have obtained legally.

Problem solved.
Now all I have to do is beg/bribe the game developer...

Seriously, both the consoles its available for allow for MP3s to be stored on the Hard Drive. Burnout allowed you to add in your own music for a while right from the XMB ... other games do it... why can't i just discover some sort of long lost music player in a shack somewhere?

Most of the GNR music is NOT public domain. It was licensed by Bethesda. And neither is any of the music by Louis Armstrong (it won't be until 2041).

My apologies, I had no idea. I don't read many threads in this section, mostly I read the mods or Geck forums.

Oh and the cacti thing was just a... Well.. A joke I guess?

I figured that. The fact that there was a mod for it already kind of worked as a punchline. :D

But then again I have an odd sense of humor.
