tesannwyn -i Skyrim -w mesogea -p 1 -b 16 -d 16384x16384 -x -256 -y -256 -h -8192 mesnew4.raw

Try that instead, I changed -i 5 to -i Skyrim, and removed -0. LOD data isn't identified anymore by the formID, so the index of the worldspace probably shouldn't be 00 anymore.

Also, the latest TESAnnwyn manual says:
-i Game TES Game to import landmass to: Specify either Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout3, FalloutNV or Skyrim. The old options of (3, 4) are still supported for backwards compatibility.

Hence the change to -i Skyrim.

Make sure you do have the latest version: http://projectmanager.f2s.com/morrowind/downloads/TESAnnwyn-0.23beta.zip

I'll take a go at it straight away. I sent a PM, but it may be better to chat here as there will no doubt be quite a few large landmass modders out there who will hit the same hurdles. I very much appreciate your help here. You'll have to let me know your Beer preference.

You expected beta testing to include using external utilities? To support hacking at things using tools designed for a different game? You should consider yourself lucky that using NV tools on Skyrim files works at all.

Arthmoor, I dont want to get into an argument with you, its totally pointless in this thread. I think you will find you didnt see what I was replying to, which was this:

Quote starts

KorJax, on 08 February 2012 - 06:32 AM, said:

Sadly I predict Workshop will be completely abandoned within the next couple of months from all mod efforts beyond basic house mods unless they add in some basic functionality, like uploading mods that do more than what a single ESP file allows, search features, load order, being able to download mods instead of subscribe, etc.
I agree. The Workshop is only really usable for really basic mods at the moment. Anything with multiple versions (Like No NPC Greetings) needs a separate page for each version on the workshop, at least that's what I've understood. Which is impractical.

Quote ends

I then said, and this was beta tested? The issue being that the beta testers will no doubt have reported many errors back to Bethesda who then chose to fix, or ignore as they saw fit.

So, anyway, back to the esm issue.

@ maegfaer: Well so far so good, there are no specific errors for the mesogea worldspace. I am now re-doing the heightmap having run it as an esp. I will see if I can get it running as an esm after conversion.

Once we've worked through all of these I will do a basic tutorial for creating huge worldspaces as hopefully, fingers and everything crossable crossed, if it will allow the biggest worldsize possible (256x256) and fingers crossed LOD works ok, we will have a procedure for doing this that others can follow. (You did the hard work though mate).

****edited*****

Well, it has imported the heightmap and it didnt crash the CK as an esp, whereas it would have done the CS. Interesting:

Regarding setting dependency, you can use http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5064 (shameful plug) to make a file a master and add references.

To make ESM from ESP:
1. Open ESP file
2. Optional. Select the item in the tree. Right click "Add Master..." | Browse... . Enter master to add. If you also load the master then the other files will appear in the context menu.
3. Expand Plugin Tree
4. Double click "TES4" or Right Click "Edit..."
5. Check the 0x0000001 (ESM file) checkbox.
6. File | Save

Much easier in Wrye Bash: Right-click file, select ESMify Self. Done.

Add...

[General]bAllowMultipleMasterLoads=1
...to SkyrimEditor.ini and it will allow multiple bona fide ESMs as masters.

thanks may need that, but, tesVsnip, or bash can do the same has well..

Tes4Gecko seems to convert from esp to esm well, one click as with bash. Pain setting up the command line though if youve never used it before.
